I just put them in my Mojave last week. Why doesn't the truck come with these from the factory???

A lot of vehicles have the prop instead of cylinders. The JT is far from the only one.
Weight and cost are two likely reasons. Jeep had to do something to keep the weight down on these for CAFE (and other reasons)

These are definitely neat but they should be updated with a quick disconnect so you can open the hood and lean it back on the windshield like you can do without them installed. This allows for significantly more room and light to work in the engine bay. with these installed you are limited to the length of the hood strut.

It has a small pop clip on each end, flip of a switch to remove.

You can quickly disconnect them. Takes all of 2 seconds per side.

I put a set on mine. They are great. I went with the stainless steel model that is about $30 more. I also added a set of KC lights.

It might be listed as a separate item. It was an order option when I got mine. Instead of the standard model with the protection sleeves, I chose the stainless steel option. I think the overall difference was about $30 more. I ordered direct from Redline.
