My question is I get the legacy thing with the hood latches, but geez why can't they just install a regular cable release/lock like all other cars.

Me thinks about that lock bouncing all around, scratch up stuff.
Actually it locked up tight on the latch and doesn't move at all. Drove it on the freeway all the time with no issues.

What good would it do, when you're just as likely to be driving around with the top off and no doors?

What are you using now?
I simply rely on the alarm system to deter thieves.
Trust me, the horns are REALLY LOUD when you're standing at the hood!

Are you happy with the hood latches? Looking at buying them. Thanks- Lloyd
I never saw them until now... and now that I've seen them, I am going to buy them.

Yes, quite happy - they were an easy install, look way similar to the OEM latches, and lock/unlock with an easy turn of the key. I kept the OEM latches just in case they crap out way down the road, but so far so good. One other poster said he bought these same ones and they started rusting - I have not had this problem, and I run it through the drive-thru wash quite often (perhaps too often ).

What’s easier to use in winter climates… rampage or Ridge? Thanks
