I've been searching around for a decent 3 ton floor jack. Seems everywhere I check the many reviews are pretty bad. Leaking out of the box, hard to drop, doesn't last. etc..... Seems the quality of floor jacks is not what it used to be. I've checked Harbor Freight, Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, Advance, Autozone. Results are similar. Are there any decent floor jacks that work, last and won't break the bank???

This is the one I bought. I went ahead with the bundle because the floor Jack alone was the same price at Home Depot. It works very well so far. The release is a bit unrefined though.

What's the max lift height of the jack stands that come with it??? They only give the specs for the jack from what I can see. I have a set of 6 ton jack stands on the way. But I can always return them.

17.5 inches for the jack stands (from what I read online). When I get home after work, I can give you an exact measurement from the floor to the top of the extended stand just to be sure….and from the base height

Floor jacks at those stores are designed to be low cost and used infrequently.

The best one I have ever used is
"3 Ton Arcan Car Floor Jack, Aluminum Steel Low Profile Quick Pump"
Read the reviews and be convinced.
Bought mine online from Costco who had the best price after a Google search
Amazing price variation for that jack

Even with "Made in USA" floor jacks like Hein-Werner, you are going to find the occasional crap review on them. Most home DIY types are not going to put out the $500+ for a Hein-Werner 3 ton model.

I still think the HF Daytona model floor jacks are the best value out there. Most times even when you get one out of the box that has problems pumping and holding, it is because it needs to be bleed per the instructions usually included with the jack when bought new.

Buying a floor jack can be a pig in a poke sometimes though.

Yup the Daytona line at Harbor Freight is a good option for the hobbyist

I bought a Craftsman 3 ton model years ago when Sears was still open, and it's okay but my friend's Daytona is better all around. Especially to release.

HF Daytona jacks are a copy of the snapon brand. There is a high reach version that is especially good for us with Gladiators. Rumors are that HF production of the daytona jacks has been impacted by the supply chain problems and that they will sell out soon. Recommend you buy one immediately if you want one.

Geeze, I bought my last floor jack at Sears, that's how old I am. It was the highest lifting jack I could find, still works great.

I've had an Arcan XL2T 2 ton long-reach/low-profile for 5 years now and it's been perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to buy their 3 ton model if I had a need for it (the 2 ton lifts my Gladiator fine).

Haha same here. It has never let me down or had any issues, but if I ever have to replace it, I will get the HF Daytona jack. It goes lower, higher, and the release is smoother.

Here’s the jack stand measurements from the floor up. The first picture is at its lowest level. The second is at its highest

My floor jack Ive had for about 20 years finely gave out. after a lot of research I purchased the Arcan 3.0 Ton Professional Grade Aluminum and Steel service jack from Costco I haven't used it yet so I cant comment on the durability. also I picked up four Pro-Lift 6 Ton Double Pin Jack Stands, getting set up to install the Mopar lift kit at almost 70 I don't move as fast as I use to and want to make sure everything is as secure as possible.
