The Drive: This Mazda Miata Climbed a Colorado Jeep Trail on Stock Suspension With No Spotters.

Lest anyone think, I'm serious, I just thought this was funny and quite impressive as well.
But does the roof come off?... Crap. I think I bought the wrong vehicle.
In all seriousness, the great thing about the jeep is that it can do that over and over again day in and day out, not just as an experiment to see if you can. But I do enjoy a good Miata, and any vehicle customized for a purpose, so thumbs up to this guy.

Just north of Whistler, B.C. is the little village of D'Arcy. There is a really rough 4x4 road from there to Seton Portage that follows the power line high above Anderson Lake. It is called the Highline Road. Late one rainy afternoon, in the dark, as we were returning to Whistler we meet up with some poor soul in a Tesla Model S. We didn't stop but the person was obviously following the GPS without considering the road conditions. they were crawling along as best he could. Must of taking a long time to reach Seton.

Mazda Miata, do they even make a version for men?
one of those guys huh. Have you ever drove one? Best drivers car out there. But you can keep your closed minded opinion if you would like.

I have many friends in the Miata community and I’m a owner of one. I’ve met the owner of Paco motor sports who builds these kits. Great guy and great product. Or perhaps you’d better like some stuff Del from v8roadsters does. V8 and V8 Miata swaps. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.

Back in 2013, we had a big flood in the mountains (and in the flats too) northwest of Denver/west of /in Boulder. We lived in a canyon at about 8K', and I had just sold my '74 FJ40 a few weeks prior (for a tidy profit!) and swapped it for a '57 Karmann Ghia (google image search " 57 Karmann Ghia", and mine is the 8th result). The road we lived on was totally wiped out. Entirely gone about 10' deep and 30' long. The only way out was to go up the canyon, into a back entrance to Golden Gate Canyon State Park, and then come out a more southerly canyon. It was a rough road when it wasn't flooded out, and we were down to a lowered antique European sports coupe and my wife's Toyota Corolla (hadn't yet been traded in for a more appropriate vehicle as we hadn't been up there long by then). The Corolla did shockingly well in the long line of SUV-piloting flood refugees. We stayed up there through the whole ordeal, and came down that route in that vehicle when, and as necessary. You can do a lot with a little sometimes.

Women can drive manuals too! i know at least one that does: my wife. Actually, mom taught me how. There's no biological reason a woman could not drive a stick.

i say my daughter is going to know how to drive a manual too, but with how everything is going to electric, i don't know if she'll have the opportunity:crying:

Yes, this manual gladiator is probably my last hurrah before the electric revolution. Most true evs aren't really automatic though, because there's only one gear anyway, so no shifting. The Porsche Taycan is one of the few exceptions, with two gears. So that's how I make myself feel better about the shiftless future. I do wish they'd make hybrid manuals again, like when the insight and CR-Z fi st came out, but that's not gonna happen. Not enough demand to justify the engineering.
