Does the WiFi hotspot give you internet when your cell doesn't have service?

Does the wife hotspot give you internet when your cell dosnt have service? Like is it through a satellite, so your constantly connected? I called uconnect and they just could not mentally process what I was asking.

Given that you get assigned another cell number, I would surmise that it is exclusively cell service.

Its cell through AT&T ... If you are in a bad AT&T spot, your down just like a phone ... Honestly it is a dumb service ...

Every person in the truck has a hot spot on their phone .. Already ...

I have a Verizon cell phone. The Jeep's AT&T hotspot is nice backup when I'm in a spot where Verizon doesn't have coverage, but AT&T has a signal.

satellite is very expensive, low speed / bandwidth, like 300-400ms ping times ect. wouldn't cost you the same that the AT&T data would and can be easily affected by adverse weather.

WeBoost (drive reach model or truck drive OTR w/ boom style antenna) combined with any hotspot enabled iPhone allows me to retain a signal in remote areas while spinning up a wifi hotspot for the fam and I. I've taken zoom & slack work calls (video disabled) in areas where I couldn't get past 1 bar w/o the WeBoost.

The wife hotspot only gets good reception when I plug it in the right hole.
