That's a great idea. I may see if i can get my mods out of it first and then set it back to stock and keep the mods or sell them separately. I've not done anything crazy so it could be back to bone stock in a half-day or less except for the seats and dash but those are hardly wild.

Check Carvana periodically - their values change a ton based on their inventory and possibly algorithmically. I’ve seen them swing 10% within a week!

For mods I’ve always heard they retain 10% of their cost. Maybe Jeeps do better, I don’t know? My father in law has a dealer license and treats nice rims+tires differently and values them at a significant fraction of their cost.

My brother is a dealer and he puts tires and wheels on a lot of trucks.

I questioned it at first, but after seeing how successful he has been, what he's doing is working.

Try Carmax. They were higher for me on two out of the three cars I sold recently.

indeed much better with Carmax, $4.5k better of an offer, still much below the $41k I paid in Nov 2019

this stuff is fascinating because of the very wide range of money offered depending on your geographic location
