Maybe putting this in the wrong place but here goes. Currently I have the gladiator pictured as a second vehicle. My primary is the daily and the gladiator gets driven a couple times a month. I'm thinking about going to a full size truck and, if I do, I'd want to go with a Jeep/Jeep for my toy. Makes no since to have two trucks after all. The problem is I've done a TON to this truck and it has 3,500 miles on it (I told you I don't drive it much). I know the truck market is very HOT right now. I wouldn't dream of trading it in so the dealership could make a fortune off of me. Its a 2020 sport s which was basically my hobby since the day i bought it. I know good and well nobody will pay for all the goodies (and I"m missing some in this list for sure). Here's what i know it's got:

Added Katskin Leather
Added hot heads for the hard top
Bought a soft top
Has the rugiged ridge hard roll-up cover
Has the leather wrapped dash (like the overland)
Has the bluetooth speaker
Alpine stereo (standard) with 8" screen
Has Warn tube doors
Has EAG winch bumper with lights
Has the front grill rhino-lined
Has the trail rail storage system
Has the Rugged Ridge fold away bed step
Has LED rope bed lights
Has LED headlight (aftermarket upgrade)
Has Rubicon Wheels and tires (dealership pull-offs)
Has Mopar A-pillar light mounts with lights
Has tazer mini
Has dead-pedal
Has Mopar grab handles (over doors)
Has Gladiator door seal guards

I get complements on it all the time and I should just keep it but if I could get my money back out and start over and do it again I would. It's been a super fun truck to own and I'd buy another jeep in a heartbeat. Anyway, any advice on what you've seen private-party retail would be appreciated!

Nothing.
Since it's not worth anything, I'll come and get it and you can save money and cancel insurance and license on it.
I'll even haul it away - no charge.

I'll be honest from my perspective - I wouldn't pay over 40 for any used Sport S. That's mostly because the you can have a new Rubicon for that from one of the forum dealers. If I bought used at all it would have to be a really good deal, otherwise it doesn't seem worth it to me at all.

I'm also not a fan of buying something that's been 'personalized' by someone else. Feels like buying a flipped house to me. Only things I look for in a used JT are: cold weather package, safety group(s), full-time transfer case.

What's it worth to someone that doesn't have the same hangups? No idea. I wouldn't be surprised to come across one like this at 45 - 47 and I would just scroll right by it.

Edited to add: This actually seems like a good price for this particular used Sport S (46.5k). It's a desirable color, and the mods are things that help (gears & tires). Only reason I wouldn't consider this one is because they did not offer the transfer case I want for the 2020 MY. So - when assigning a value to yours, maybe consider this guy's price and the fact that it's been listed for sale here for almost a month now.

Run it through Carmax or Carvana. You’ll get a pretty good idea, minus the aftermarket parts you put on your truck. Wranglers/gladiators are the only vehicle where you can add aftermarket parts and typically increase its value.

It's worth about $38k wholesale with no bump for any mods or low mileage.

See below for recent sales through Manheim.

Check your inbox.
I have always heard that when you trade/sell a vehicle it should be as close to stock as possible (with notable exceptions).

For example, if I see a slightly lowered GTI with aftermarket rims for sale, I know that thing likely has been beat to s**t.

Add up all the aftermarket stuff you've bought and installed, and take half of that. Then add that to the online value (Carvana/Carmax/KBB) of the stock version you have.

my bone stock SPORT totaled out to the tune of 45k dollars within the last two weeks.

sticker was 41k this time last year. nothing extra on it. base sport with power windows and locks.

Just as a heads up. I never buy Jeeps used, thats just me though, i like to build with a clean slate.

I've bought and sold a LOT of cars (for years, I averaged about 6 months per car), and almost always made a few hundred to a few grand on each vehicle all told (excluding gas and insurance). One thing about special interest cars like this, and it sounds a bit silly, is that they're a canvas that people paint their desires onto. As a result, a rock stock example is typically worth MORE to the average buyer than one that's heavily modified which will only be worth any premium to a very select group that wants exactly what you want.

I recently went through a very similar exercise with a diesel ZR2 Bison. Similar situation with less than 8K miles. I pulled everything off I could, and left only the block heater plug port (a big hole was drilled into the fascia) and the mud flaps (temporarily lost the factory hardware, and found it about month after it was gone). I got back about what I paid for it, then got back the majority of what I had in the modifications. I'm still sitting on wheels and winter tires, but only got them split a week or so ago and haven't put much effort into them yet.
