i decided to skip on the mopar trifold hard cover.

narrowed it down to two others that I will look into getting in the next week or two and just install it myself. figure I spent this much already on a majave i might as well shell out a few more for the one I like the over all look and use of the most.

i forgot to ask, do most of these lock down when your tailgate is locked. i was reading a review on amazon this morning on the undercover and it said "I wish it locked against the back of the bed, but I understand why it doesn’t." which makes it sound like someone could open it right up and steal your stuff.
They say they are "locked" with the gate closed but in reality no. I can flip the end piece up with my gate closed.

It's tight enough the average A-hole walking by can't flip it up but if you or someone wants to open it, it's relatively easy

Bak Flip Revolver x4 is what you want. Buy once cry once. It's secure and rolls up on 5 seconds.

i am torn now just between the undercover ultra flex and the rugged rige in trifold or hard roll.

all of those can be removed by hand.
the undercover comes carpeted underneath and is a fiberglass blend instead of aluminum so no dents over time so I am leaning towards that but the hard roller looks pretty nice when open but not as nice when shut to me. gonna drive to a 4X4 parts and see what they can get at their store.

I'll second on the Diamondback. If you want security and strength, the Diamondback is the ticket. A 500 lb gorilla could jump up an down on it and wouldn't hurt it, and it would take some work with a crowbar to try get into it. For me it also makes an excellent platform to mount my HAM antennas since it's all aluminum, and if you roll it off-road, it's not coming apart or going anywhere. :)

I had the mopar hard trifold and was very disappointed. It leaked, and the rails on the sides the bed ate into my interior bed space, and they were flimsy as heck.

i went to the mopar soft rolling and its by far the best cover ive ever had, to the point that nothing else even peaks my interest.

It locks with the bed, and stays shut.

Its water tight

It looks sleek and fits the lines of the truck wether it’s rolled or flat

its 6 bolts total to install…takes no time at all

it handles the snow/ice great

when rolled you get YOUR ENTIRE BED as usable space

there is no velcro to wear out with sun

there are no rails on the side that get in the way and look dumb

its your money but the mopar soft roller is the best bang for buck IMO
Do you have any problems with yours pooling water when it rains? Especially on the last two spots right before the tailgate? Mine seems a little stretched in that area and holds water which i am worried will stretch it more.

I wonder if any forum members who have one of those two are local? You could also see if there are any local jeep groups near you. You could probably message them on Facebook or something and if someone has a gladiator and has one of the covers you want to go see it in person and get a good hands-on look

I got mine secondhand from a guy who got it on his launch edition gladiator. So I think mine has seen sun pretty much from day one of when gladiators were getting released…

It pools a little bit but it’s never been enough to be an issue. I can either flush it off with my hand or simply roll the cover up and it just shoots out the sides, over the side of the bed, because of how the cover hangs over the edge.

And even with that little bit of water that sits in there after a hard rain I’ve still never had water in my bed once with the soft rolling cover.

I remember reading a while ago that a couple of forum members were putting their minds together to come up with a way to tighten that fabric but I don’t know if anyone ever came up with a good solution. Still, with how old and weatherbeaten mine is, it still hasn’t become an issue. but I do anticipate needing another one at some point just due to wear and use.

Thanks. I didn't really have any pictures of just the Tonneau cover so I had to find something from the back where you can see it. :) That suspension is the RK Pro-X No Limits Stage 1.

What Mopar cover are you looking at? I have the roll-up and it doesn't leak or freeze.
Same here. I really like it. Even in our huge storm of a year ago (wind driven rain to the tune of 70-80 mph) and car washes and other storms - no rain in the bed. It's well sealed.
I need to put a seal around the tail gate - that's not tonneau cover's fault, though, it's just got large gaps around the bottom and sides of the tail gate.
The cover does just fine.

I have the Gator EFX and it's been okay. The fixed front portion has been an occassional pain, but only takes a couple of minutes to remove completely.
Waterproof depends mainly on installation for any of them, so if you have a leak, adjust and test again!

Would you be willing to measure how much room this cover takes up when fully opened? Gator says they don’t have this info.

I'm glad this thread popped up. I've been contemplating a bed cover, but I've never had one before on previous trucks. As the bed for the JT is shallow and short I think I would like to have one as I don't think I will use it to move larger loads regularly like I used to with my previous full size trucks. Since I'm in Texas I'm not too worried about snow or really even rain that often, but I like the idea of somewhat dry storage when you need it. Is the roll up or the trifold a better setup. I think I prefer the look of the soft covers vs hard, but would still like a cover that doesn't flop in the wind. I keep looking at the Mopar soft roll up and it looks to be the winner for a lot of the reasons you indicated.
I've had a Gator EFX for months, live in (rains!) FL, no leaks yet. Like the flush look.

Look at the LOMAX Stance, folds up for use of whole bed and removes real easy when you what to remove it.
