Is there some kind of 'rivalry' with Tacoma owners??

Your theory on that makes sense. BUT I find it makes no difference.
You speed up to create that gap behind you, the tailgater speeds up too.
Then as you increase your speed IF they do happen to hit you because of an emergency braking incident, it just happens at a higher speed.
I try to ignore as best as possible what’s going on directly behind me and focus on what’s in front, to the sides and coming up in the lanes next to me. Always try to give yourself an emergency route, but with crazy traffic volumes it’s hard to do. You leave a safe gap in font, someone zooms in front of you. It’s a battleground at times.?
I think you mis understood what I said. I usually follow the car ahead of me around 3 to 4 seconds behind. If someone is tailgating me I know to stop safe and not have him hit me I have to stop slower. In order to do that I have to give myself more time from the car in front of me so I slow down until the gap with the car in front of me is 4 to 6 seconds. So I have widened the gap in front to save my ass from the idiot behind me.

Are you talking about MP vehicles on a military installation? Just trying to figure out how you would stop someone for a traffic violation in a G-ride?
G-ride is government can be city, county, state or fed. FYI just a less intrusive way of saying that. If you want a real shock find out how many different fed agencies have their own "police" ? not special or field agents, investigator's. In just the DoD there is at least 9 different that are civ police.
I'm a Civ Police.

I’m aware. I was one of them. I Retired December of 2018. I’ve never heard a civilian officer refer to their unit as a “G-ride” outside of a federal agency though. And most of them are very limited as to what they can do and where. That’s why I asked.

Well, it hasn't happen to me for many years, but it happened today commimg home from the doctor in my STS, no Gladiator yet placing my oder next week...I was at a rubust highway speed following the flow of traffic in the Left Lane....This idiot and his passanger in an old, black, SUV, must be going at least 20 mph faster then everyone else as i watched him speeding right up to my bumper creating a threat to my life... I guess he felt he could just "shove" everyone off the highway.

I tried to wave him off, no response...So then I start doing a controlled slow down, two reasons, he needed to spill energy by slowing dow (and lower the risk to me at least a little), and I hope he would get the message...He kinda did, he jumped in the middle lane, and did a dangourous pass not for from my fender.

When he got about 1/8th of a mile ahead of me the passanger gives me the finger - LOL. Typical Hole. And didn't anyone teach these morons that in order for the "finger" to be effective you have to do it in close proximity of the target? A quater of a mile, cheeze! :).

When I had my last car, I'd flip pennies out the sunroof when people rode my tail... A penny at 75-80 bouncing off a windshield gets them to go around pretty quick!

I used to do that on my motorcycle for the same reasons. Right lane doing speed limit or going with traffic and some asshat on my rear wheel...toss a few cents in the air and they back off REAL quick.

Yes, but only after he "shoved" the car next to me in the middle lane out of the way via dangourous bumper to bumper tactics.
Ok, so you're not a left lane driver and he was definitely a dick. Carry on. ?

If I’m reading this right, you were in the far left lane? Again, the left is supposed to be for passing only. That’s the issue. People think it’s a “cruising” lane.

Ahhh. Gotcha, I did misunderstand. Make so much more sense now.
Good on you.
