I have the NFab Predators. Love the look and the function for wife and son. I kept my mopar rails for the day I decide to go rock crawling. They were pretty quick and easy to put on, and use all the same hardware. I get the convenience of the bolt on step idea. It'd be great if mopar added a factory option/accessory. I’d consider selling my Predators if that happened.

Those look good but you also lose some ground clearance and some tight spots on a few trails around here would see ripped off pretty quickly. I almost bought a set of those though but the wife shot it down, she's not a fan of the steps, she said it looks better with just the rail on the side. I agree mostly with that but if I decide to go up to a 5 or 6 inch lift we will see if she still agrees with that statement when she's trying to climb into it. Both of us are only 5ft 4 and my dad is 72 and has a bad hip. He's only rode in my jeep once and I had to bring a step stool like pictured in the above post so he could get in and out. I wish they made something with a quick disconnect so you could just pull a pin and go. They have those for the JKs.

I did this exact thing, bought 2, only installed 1 on passenger side-front. 4 bolts removable. Handles my fat ass while washing truck and constant window cleaning from flying march animals.
How hard was the install and did they mount to the rubi rails or some other place. I'm tempted to buy the 4 and install them and just remove them when I go on a trail. I wish they would hang more straight out than down but it is what it is. I like my rubi rails and this seems like a perfect compromise if you need a step, part-time.

What don't you like about the look of the MORE's? They're barely noticeable and exactly what you are looking for...

I put them on my JTR for the same occasional use by the shorter riders. 2 quick pins and you're ready to wheel without worrying about ripping steps off or getting hung up. MORE has a 20% sale pretty much every holiday weekend so you can get a good deal on them

For one it's not enough step for my dad to use and two, they look cheap. Not saying they are but they look cheap for the price.

I have the MOREs and my wife loves them. Initially it was pretty painful on the wallet, but I only ordered two. In the last 8 months there is only 1 instance in which I should have taken them off. Your potential contact patch is down to just a few inches unless you are sliding on the whole rail. Frankly, I don't even notice them now and it keeps the look.

I don't like the more steps and they are way over priced. I just don't like the look of them.

I may end up giving those rampage ones a shot. Looking at that other thread it appears he mounted them directly to the rock rails which would make a pretty easy install.
On the plus side if you end up not liking them it’s relatively easy to find take off oem rock rails. And then you could sell yours with the step to a random jeep yuppie and maybe make a profit.

who wants to carry around a rubbermaid plastic step stool. LOL. yall cant be serious. The concept is they can be bolted on when just driving daily, and then when hitting trails or whatever, you pop them off. Seems like a great idea to me.
he said he only needs them when he drives his parents. If that's once a month, the step stool might be the best choice.

If its twice a week, then probably not.

It's only maybe once a year if that. I rarely see my family, but I'm not carrying a step stool either. Good suggestion though.

For once a year, I wouldn't change my vehicle. I'd rather get a $12 step stool every year and throw it out when I'm done than put a step that hangs down 6" off the rock rails. But that is just me.

True, but 2 bolts and it's off the jeep and if you need it again for some other time for longer periods, like on vacation, then you slap it back on and you don't look dumb taking a step stool out

Now we get to the crux of it and to why choice is good.

I would feel dumber driving around in a Jeep Rubicon with rock rails on it and a ladder hanging down 6 inches than I would pulling a step stool out of my truck once per year.

And you feel the opposite way. There is no correct answer. Your parents would be happy in either case. We are both good sons. Ha. Your jeep. your preference.

The funny thing is that you have got me thinking that a step stool may be in my future. Ha.
