Sounds like a different issue. When mine did this I could not start the truck even holding the fob to the start button. I have since replaced the aux battery due to other issues with stop/start that were resolved with the new aux battery.

I think the advice to disconnect both negative aux terminals for about 10 minutes to fully reboot the computer is a good one.
your issue is exact same that happened to me. I did the disconnect of the negative terminals and it was fine after 10 min. I just left the aux battery lead off and bypassed it, turned start/stop off. No issues since.

My remote wasn’t doing anything. Wouldn’t lock or unlock, remote start, or active horn/lights. The little red LED on the fob would blink with a key press but the truck would not respond.
Were you able to resolve the issue?

I have some what similar problem. I have 2021 jeep wrangler and My fob is not getting detected and it persisted with the spare fob.
Took to a dealer and they checked and couldn’t find any problem with it. It occurs when i am away from the jeep for couple hours and then try to open the jeep using fob.

has anyone able to fix or got it fixed?

It is very irritating and a guy from dealership calls it intermittent issue. But then i drive once a week so for me its definitely not intermittent.

I never determined what the cause of the issue was or resolved it. It actually happened again for the the second time ever last week when I had the doors off. That was interesting as a remote start cannot be initiated when the doors are off. After a couple minutes of monkeying around it started.

I actually think it's a main battery issue. I replaced my aux battery but my auto stop/start takes a long time to become active. I am pretty sure my main battery also needs to be replaced.

I had this happen yesterday, literally had the '21 Gladiator 1 month and 2 days. Hours from home, literally in the middle of BDB,OK stopped after a good two hours of driving, where I had the key fob laying on the dash in the heat and sun, it was a Cali-sunny Oklahoma day (hard to find here lately with the 3 weeks of drizzle/rain/mist we've had). Stopped for short 3 minute break, jumped back in the Jeep'em Up and got, "key fob can not be detected" along with something else. After a few tries, a few choice words and small panic attack, I locked and unlocked the doors and it started right up. Ran all around NE OK yesterday without issue. I am heading into the City today, UGH, thinking I will call my dealership to see if this was caused from the fob being in the heat or if there has been other issues reported to them.
I typically run with the auto start/stop OFF, because that is the stupidest thing ever. A second battery is great and all, but that second starter is missing. I am looking into buying a by pass for the auto start/stop, not just disconnecting it. My last car, '16 mini coop clubman, you had to turn this function on, I never used it.

Mine does the same thing, just started acting up. Seems only after I'm snowblowing in the cold with the key in my coat pocket. Kooky, but annoying none the less. I might add that I'm using the AJT Designs fob. I'm going to use just the factory fob for a while to see if this is the issue. Reading this thread, I'm not optimistic................Hartman

To use the uconnect app to remotely start, do you need to have the XM radio account also active?

So I've had my Gladiator about 15 months/28k miles. Today I hopped into the truck and hit the start button, but instead of starting I got the "Key Fob Not Detected" message on the DIC. That was puzzling as the fob was in the little slot between the cup holders. Anyway, I tried again and got the message to press the start button with the end of the fob. That didn't work either. I tried several times to no avail.

I replaced the FOB battery to see if it would help. It didn't. In fact, when pressing the buttons the red LED on the FOB would blink as usual but the truck would not respond. I tested the "old" battery and found it still produces just over 3v. In short, I do not believe the battery was a problem.

In a final attempt to get the truck to start I used the Uconnect app and initiated a remote start. That worked. I was then able to press the start button which allowed the truck to drive. A few minutes later all symptoms vanished and now the FOB is working as it should.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? The most concerning part was that using the fob to push the start button was unsuccessful. To me, this signifies a problem with the truck, not the FOB.

Just a heads up. FoB was the starting symptom of my PCM failure.

Thanks! I haven’t had the issue before my last post in this thread, so early May 2021. I can’t say for certain, but I replaced my batteries and this little gremlin has gone away.

In any case my fingers are crossed that it isn’t my PCM…

No, you do not need an active music/content account. You do need an active SiriusXM Guardian account.

Mine couldn't of happened at a more worse time after an ice storm that left over an inch of solid ice on my entire jeep. I looked like an idiot in front of my neighbors that thought I needed a jump start. I had to go in my closet and get the spare. Smh Jeep

My fob is intermittently working. I replaced the battery in the fob and it's still not unlocking my doors like it should. The little red light on the fob comes on though when I press the unlock button. I guess I'll bring my other key to work and see if it does the same thing.

IF the red light on the fob is coming on when you press buttons then the fob is not the problem. The main and aux batteries in your truck are probably bad or going bad. The electronics and computers in modern vehicles are sensitive to voltage fluctuations and may not work correctly if voltage is even slightly out of the norm.

I replaced both batteries in my truck myself, and haven't had an issue since. I replaced my main battery with an Odyssey ($$$) and the aux with the only one Napa had. Jeep had a bad lot of batteries. I think it was more than just a bad batch bun in any case It's a known issue and the reason I didn't go and have the dealer replace them under warranty. There is no sense in replacing junk with junk.

I had a similar issue, not sure if it was the fob or the Jeep. I was able to fix it by using the remote to lock and unlock the doors and then tried starting. This worked for me, it was only once and hasn't repeated but just throwing it out there in case it happens again.
This just happened to me and did the same exact thing as you and it worked! Now let's hope it continues to work ok. Very interesting. Any new updates on this issue. Mine is a 2020. Thank!

Also worth noting, if you press the lock button with your doors off it will also show Fob Not Detected and pushing the fob to the button will not work either. Supposed to be some kind of anti-theft measure. Hit the unlock button and your'e good to go.
