But how does it do when it’s over 90 degrees?
I've had no issues. Also I don't push it hard. Usually around 70-74 mph. I live at 4100 ft. Haven't had a loss of power yet. When it down shifts going up hill I pull it into manual and pop it back into 8th it just maintains it. Love it. Also don't tow anything.

You didn’t factor in the daily pleasure of the effortless torque and the lack of stress on dropping 2 gears revving it out to achieve the same thing. Most of the time a little pressure on the go peddle will entice the turbo only to ooze the power out. It’s just a more relaxing ride. Obviously my opinion, backed personal experience.

The way you word the pricing it sounds just evil. The way I think about it is I’m not worried about an additional 2-3 dollars per fill-up. If you look at personal preference upgrades done compared to functional modifications…I’d argue would be a more substantial waist of money, but we still purchased a Jeep.

Another thing you didn’t factor in was resale value. You may be able to recoup the pricing differential with the diesel option that comes with the stouter ZF Transmission for the same price as the gasser tranny.
This 100x. I did it purely for the driving experience with the extra power. If they didn't have a diesel option and just had a 5.7 hemi option for $4K I would have went with that for the same reason despite the atrocious MPGs it would get. The MPGs with the diesel are just an added bonus.

Something seems offhere.. you have about 11 gallons left. Plus or minus, but 233 range left. With that much fuel left, you should have a range of over 300, based on mpg you're getting ?

I reset the meter from my tribe to get LineX’ed. There was a cool front blowing in on my drive NNE to Jacksonville FL from Gainesville. The gusty wind wasn’t friendly. While the bed was being sprayed, the winds and rain died down, so I reset the meter to try and get a nonstop reading back. I can’t remember if I reset it from the shop or just west of down town. I also idle more than I should…and depending on pump sensitivity, you can get an additional 1-2 gallons in if you can pump slow enough. Both of which I wouldn’t to if I was hand calculating.

I’ll just assume that wasn’t an attack on one’s integrity…

Yeah, but diesel costs more per gallon, so...?
If you have a Jeep and you’re worried about 2-3 dollars per fill up your probably driving the wrong vehicle.

Depends on where you live. A month ago I was paying .20 cents less per gallon. Now it's about equal. By summer it should go back down.

This thread is about mpg. If you're not worried about mpg, you might be reading the wrong post? Because aside from whether or not you carry a Jerry can, what's the point of discussing mpg aside fom cost? Diesel versus gas torque is a whole different matter, but again, that wasn't the topic.

Fair enough. It's been a long time since I was looking.

I ran a consistent 25.8 - 27.6 mpg until I put new tires on.

I live in a rural area. 95% of my driving is on country roads with speed limits of 50-60mph.

With the new wheels tires I am seeing 19.8-24.1mpg.

Started missing my factory tires when fuel prices hit $4.16/gallon.....

I knew that the new shoes would be a hit on mpg but it was more than I expected.

Did bit over 200 miles today and was averaging 27 mpg plus. This is a gas JT mind you. I am not sure I buy that, think the trip computer might be off. Was 65 mph most of the trip.

I wish. I haven't come close to those numbers in mine yet. I did 178mi on Sunday out to Cabela's in PA from NJ and only averaged 22.5 mpgs all highway doing 75 mph, but it was still climbing on the way home. Also didn't help as I was in the boost going up a lot of hills, but mine isn't broken in yet and only has about 600 miles on it as well.
your mileage will improve a bit but consider 70 mph and below where ur Jeep lives for mileage reasons

THIS IS ON 39s. Speedo is corrected.
