Considering how much flat out lying there is in the world when it comes to tire sizing, what are the odds the 35x11.5s are actually the exact same dimensions as the 285/75s? I hear stories of 37s measuring 35 and 35s measuring 33.5 all the time. A true to size 285/75 would be a 33.8x11.2. Seems close enough they'd just say "fuck it" and print the wrong dimensions on the sidewall anyway.

Anyone work at a tire store and seen both? Or have the 35x11.5s and measured them?

For what it's worth, Toyo's website says the 35 actually measures 34.5" and the 285/75 measures 33.9". But I don't know if that translates to the real world, of course.
Yea but BFG says the 37 K02 measures 36.5 and I've never seen a single user picture over 35.5. 35.25 is common.

I had Toyo AT III in 285/75/17s they list 34x11.5x17 on the sticker as well as the metric size. I programmed the tire size to 33.4” to get my speedometers to match my gps.

I can agree that the posted sizes on the manufacturer website is probably inaccurate to some degree . However anyone measuring ( especially vertically) a tire mounted on a vehicle under weight and comparing those #s isn't helping . Those #s are at the very least mounted on a given wheel width at a specific psi ( close to max) not on a vehicle . I would wager that the sizing would be alot closer if measured this way. It's is still very misleading . Now if you are comparing different tires on the same wheel on the same rig measured the same way consistently that's fine also . But they are going to measure smaller that you would probably like .

I have the Toyo Open Country AT3 in 35x12.50 on my gladiator right now, and they only have 1500 miles on them so no real tread wear yet. I can go measure the height right now and snap a picture if you want it.

would appreciate it. $50 difference per tire between the 2 sizes, so that's 250 for the set. would like to know my extra money is buying something

Thanks! 34 under load is actually a lot closer to 35" than i was expecting. Overall how do you like the tires? I've heard good things but haven't experienced them personally. It's the only tire I can find in 35x11.5 so I'm wanting them to be good

I really like them so far, after 1500 miles. Relatively quiet, aggressive for an all terrain, and if like me you aren't going to be doing a ton of off-roading I think they are a great all around tire.

I have the 35x11.50 Toyo ATIIIs on my Mojave and they've been good. Wish I would have gone to a 37" tire but that is a different story, lol.

In my dreams I would like to get 37 BFG K02s (they're a small 37 anyway), but i really don't like the idea of running 12.5s on stock rims and I really like the very basic mojave rims.

That was my original thought too, plus I didn't want to have to think about upgrading the stock gears. After driving on these for about 6 months they feel like they should be the stock size. The 33s they come on look undersized and the 35s look okay. If I had to do it again I'd upgrade the wheels and tires to 37s, drive it for a while and worry about the gears later.
