I agree, and HOPE they do! They've been severely under powered since the JK was introduced, but they have done little to address it in 15 years.
I just put a Magnuson on mine to get more out of it. The Magnuson and 513s make driving on 39's tolerable now! lol
Business wise and logically it makes sense but I understand your skepticism like you said. I’ll be so mad if this is in the next Mojave, I would have waited a year.

Since I"ll buy my next Jeep in 4 years, hopefully that gives ample time to get one of these in there

I’m just going to wade into these waters right here to suggest that I could see a future where a possible Hercules gets released with such a power plant. As well, i can’t help but think that such a thing might be an option in the Mojave which already has a focus on keeping the sprung weight low.

I did a little looking around, I think there’s a good chance here.

Forbes:

“The automaker isn’t yet announcing which vehicles will get the Hurricane, leaving that up to individual brands to announce. However, this engine is only intended for longitudinal installations like the larger SUVs and pickups.

Anywhere the aging Pentastar V6 or Hemi V8 are used is a likely candidate.”

They mention the Wrangler and gladiator for the same 392 and Diesel that fit in the larger rams so they should be able to fit this engine.

This is my thoughts as well.

They have my attention. Either engine would be leaps ahead of any other current offering. AND saves gas?! Yeah I'm interested actually.

Will there be a manual transmission available? doubtful.
Yep my exact thought.

And even if so, there would be minimal investment in a strong enough trans/clutch, leading to more buzz killing "torque management".

It think it will be a situation just like the theoretical Wrangler V8. Remember all the debates we had about that? I insisted it was easily doable, but Jeep just wasn't motivated to build a V8 Wrangler and all their excuses about cooling capacity were BS. Well, it wasn't until Ford announced a new Bronco that Jeep felt motivated. (Cooling capacity issues? What cooling capacity issues?)

I'm thinking it's likely this new I6 will be available only in a new $100,000 Grand Cherokee. The Stellantis attitude will be that all us Jeep troglodytes can get bent. "This engine is for the people who will pay for it!"

Maybe, someday it will be available in a Jeep. I would love to see it. But I wouldn't count on it happening until all the Pentastar tooling is completely worn out.

Well, it's not the Alfa TT, but it'll do.

I just thought that Dodge should drop the Alfa TT into the AWD Caravan.

I may be reading too much into it, but I'm not sure if this would actually be an MPG increase if you're in a Pentastar already. It says it's more efficient than larger engines, and compares it to V8s in the same sentence. I'm reading that to mean it's more efficient than something like a 392, which isn't saying much... lol

" The Hurricane twin-turbo achieves this V-8-rivaling performance while being up to 15% more efficient than larger engines. "

I got better gas mileage in a 392 Challenger than my Mojave. 392 really isn’t that bad if you don’t drive like an asshole all the time.

As did I. I don't mind getting crappy gas mileage if I can have a little fun while mashing the go pedal. I love my Jeep, but getting 15 or so MPG with that minivan engine is a buzzkill.

Agreed about the 392 Challenger. I was averaging low 22-24s mpg.

Stock Mojave, tow package, automatic 16-18 mpgs.
