About to swap out to new wheels/tires and don't plan on dismembering what's on currently. I figured I'd ask since I've seen that many TPMS sensors are created equal, but curious what others have done with success, thanks.

Sorry I didn't think they'd be year specific, aftermarket wheels and a 2020 JTR

Ya Jeep changed them, the new ones will not work with older rigs, course it was a mid 21' change so no hard and fast build date. Kinda a pita.

Checked on RockAuto and they're got them as well, pre-programmed and I can get 5. Appreciate it fellas, and yeah what a PITA to switch things up to a new one and have yet another thing unavailable in this day in age, super convenient.

I had to wait 3 months to get the new TPMS, no aftermarket sensors are available in Germany. Driving without sensors is illegal.
The original Jeep sensors are 260 EUR (290 usd)/set.
That's crazy, how would they know?

Background: Here in Germany cars have to be checked every 2 years by an official test agency called TÜV, they focus on safety and environmental topics. When you pass all checks, you get a sticker on the license plate. If you fail with a minor deviation, you are allowed to continue driving but have it fixed asap and have it checked again. If you continue to drive without a valid TÜV sticker you could get fined by the police (they check parked cars), or, if involved into an accident, run into trouble with the insurance.
I am not really sure, but I think if there is a really bad safety issue they will not allow you to drive any more.

So how would they know: My new alu rims have a cerificate for the Gladiator, but, after first installation of the rims they have to be checked by the TÜV and added to the car papers. During this tests, they also check if the tire pressure sensors are working.

There's no programming to it. What are they trying to say - or sell?

I'll only buy original MOPAR TPMS sensors - from allmoparparts, Benny here. I want the MOPAR support and warranty and I know for a fact they'll work because they are OEM parts.

There is a law in the U.S. requiring TPMS - and the law is written so that no shop can cause a working system to not work, there's some other provision as well but basically, if it's working they can't sent it back out not working or they have broken federal law. If they install wheels or tires, they must have the TPMS working when it leaves.
The problem in this country is that there are no enforced requirements that vehicles be safe. You can drive without brakes and be sent on your way - in that same car, if you are in an accident caused by non-working brakes.
