Hi all,

I'm fine with the OEM rock rails on my Jeep but would like to install just a small protrusion out of the side of the rail for my wife to step on. She's 5'1" and has a hard time getting in. She has said she doesn't need much, just something to put her foot on.

I can spend the money on the extended stock rail or something aftermarket. But hesitate because all I need is something that sits close to the rail that comes out about an inch so she can put her foot on it.

I've found some marine grab rails that will work, but am wondering if anything like this exists for the Gladiator in the offroad world. Again, this would protrude straight out the side of the rail and not hang below it.

Something even lower profile would be ideal.

Thoughts?

BTW - this grab handle is made from stainless tubing, has a 500 lb weight limit in tension and cost $30.

I know you said not underneath, but lots of people seem to like these as low cost add-on steps that don’t get in the way. They retract up. They also can be removed if you’d like when off road. Pin pull. I really considered these, but ultimately went with rock slide engineering as I wanted sliders as well.

that's interesting. Where I am, I'm more likely to drag the rails on hard mud or dirt than on a boulder, do you think that would get ripped off if that happened while it was retracted? It looks pretty cool.

By the way, I currently carry a small collapsible stool to help people like my mom get in. (80 yrs olf)

These things are freaking brilliant!! And $12!! Ha.

I don’t have them, so don’t know, but on crazy terrain they can be removed easily with a pin pull I believe. I carry a step to get into the bed after the lift. It’s like climbing up a wall now.

I came across this product in a Bronco forum, we arent associated with this company nor know much about it but might be worth reaching out to them to see if they have something for the RockRails on the Gladiators - https://www.iagperformance.com/ez-step

I just called them and spoke to s0omeone in sales. He said no plans at this time. I mentioned that it fills an unfilled niche. A reasonably priced step to mount to the existing rail that does not hang down and would not be destroyed the first time you got close to high centering.

He said they have been totally taken aback by the response to them and are selling many many more than they anticipated.

Interesting.

Thanks again.

I do think there is definitely a huge market for something like this in the Jeep world. Rubicons and Mohaves are high selling models and for people who don't have a Rubicon or Mojave, the factory rails are a dime a dozen. (I think I saw a set for free recently).

Man thats unfortunate to hear. I have noticed the response to be huge in the Bronco forum. I would love it if one of our manufacturers could devolpe something like that as it is surely inovative. Im sure there will be something eventually but who know when unfortunately
