Painted fenders for sure and GobiI'm placing an order for a 22 sport s this month, but I can't make up my mind on a few things. First, given the choice between painted fenders or unpainted, what opinions do you have about that? Also, the color is probably the most difficult decision I'm having. I currently own a black Gladiator, but I've narrowed it down to three colors for the new one: gobi, hydro blue, and sarge green (in no particular order.) I'm ordering it with the soft top if that makes a difference. I appreciate your opinions. Pics for attention.

Mall Crawler package.I wouldn't do painted fenders if you offroad or work on your truck a lot. The plastic are a god send. Leaning over the fenders to work on the engine, laying tools on the fenders as a bench. Offroading - rock impacts. Imagine caring about paint....
This was partly my rationale. I have a friend with a really nice JK. Everything looks good. Except the fenders are white/grey. And no chemical dressing seems able to change that for more than a few days.I would go painted fenders. I have had too many Jeeps with the dulled out black flares that always end up looking like shit.
Yeah for sure if you have themHard tops allow for roof racks.
Nice choice with the painted fenders. My biggest fear is when I went tearing through the jungle years ago with painted fenders and they got all scratched up. Where as my previous jeep with the black plastic fenders I wasn't as concerned and more cheaply replaced.I went with painted fenders on my Jeep as I’m not a fan of having unpainted plastic fenders that will only be black for a short time and then turn grey from sun fade (Florida sun will ruin everything). I’ve taken my Jeep on off-road excursions all over the Florida peninsula, and haven’t had any issues with pin-striping on fenders. As far as colors go that’s purely subjective. I like Sarge but in some lighting it looks almost black. Gobi is great if you want a lighter color that isn’t white or grey. (It was one of my top 3 colors when I bought in July 2020 but I couldn’t find a dealer willing to negotiate on one and ordering had just closed). Hydro is an exceptional color, but you’ve really got to like bright colors cause it is very blue. Ultimately I’d try and look at each color in person if possible. The online configurator doesn’t do the best job of actual in-person representation.
That’s what I’m expecting. Dealer said it should be 8-12 weeks so I don’t expect it before the two month mark. The anticipation is already absolutely killing me! At least I am already in a gladiator so I won’t miss out on the early summer shenanigans.I wish they weren’t so slow at building these days, prolly be two months before you get it after order, sadly.

I have heard folks talk about the different statuses (D1 for example) and have no idea what that means or where to find that info. Would you mind to elaborate?I’ve been in D1 status for 2 weeks, I’m like what are they doing? ?
It means at build gate, sequenced for production, after that there’s paint, then trim, and then it’s transportedI have heard folks talk about the different statuses (D1 for example) and have no idea what that means or where to find that info. Would you mind to elaborate?
