What did you do when faced with the rock slider options during ordering?

Any good images of the "stock" rock sliders vs. the mopar? I'm not sure I'd want something "sticking out".
Any good aftermarket options?

There is nothing wrong with the Rubicon rails. They don't stick out and do offer protection.

Another option if you like the Rubi rails is to not order your ride with rails and pick up a set of take offs. I have a set sitting here and I'll bet you could easily find a set close by.

Welllll

having a bit of step/rocker protection from the side is nice, but build quality is such, that adding “real” rock sliders can be all but impossible. They bolt through the body bolts which are notorious for breaking out and are not accessible to repair without cutting the body and welding in a new nut etc. I got some nice rock steps (used). Back body nut came loose. Was able to tighten it backbut no way I was going to push it.

I have banged on mine and leaned on them and they’ve held up. But they’re not going to take a hard drop. I’ve seen pics of them crushed into the body.

Yea there are an easy dozen listed here and I’ve heard shops have em piled in the back for scrap. If there’s one thing Jeep folk do well, it’s keep Chinese factories in business. I have a lot of factory options that didn’t come with the Jeep and I’m barely in it for $1000. Including a top.

I don't have any photos but my buddy ordered wider the Mopar sliders on his most recent Gladiator. They stick out about 4" or so. Perfect for using as a side step or standing on to reach things. Also keeps rocks from beating your door hinges all to hell. Personally I wish I had a set but I haven't found a pair used yet. The regular ones are all over though. Can't give them away.

They hold up pretty well too. He actually wheels his truck. It'll be on the Rubicon Trail for the next few days...
