Has anyone used the 'trails' recording option on the 8.4? I just found out about it today, did a test recording session, and it seems to be basic. Just recording the track - no real data like you would get with onx, or caltopo, or some other GPS/GIS software.

Curious to hear if anyone has used it and found it especially helpful.

Oh interesting. I'll try that out soon. Thanks. Would have never used the factory nav unless out of mobile signal in which case I have offline OnX maps downloaded. Hah!

I had high hopes, but doea nothing be record the path. It won’t even overlay if your on the trail again. It’s stupid. ONX way better. This is on 21 sport and I’ve used it tons of times to test it out.

Yeah that's what I thought. sorta figured that out right from the get go of a short little test and it didn't seem very useful at all. kinda a shame.

you can through car play. but it's kinda lame because you can only see the map, you can't manipulate it at all like add waypoints or record tracks or anything. just see the map. so its very limited.
