It’s not a bad kit. Better than some other brands I’ve seen. Definitely an alright starting point… the shocks are a very basic. IMO

I ran a 2.5” Rubicon Express lift in my JK. Their Shocks back then were made by bilstein. I found them to be overly stiff. Maybe different in their JT kit.

at that price i'd just save a little and go AEV 2" spacer with geometry correction bracket.

I got the rough country 3.5" lift with their v2 shocks. I highly recommend. Even cheaper then above lift.

I must be honest, the number of people recommending Rough Country lifts is vastly outweighed by the sea of voices saying to avoid at all costs. No personal experience, but i've heard enough to know I don't want any either.

Why not get the MetalCloak True Dual Rate kit and their Rocksport shocks? Way better kit, and can be upgraded in the future. It has everything you need to include rear track bar as well. I just installed this kit on my JT about a month ago and it is amazing!

Rough country has been making shocks for off road since the 60s and springs since the 70s. If you want expensive then spend top dollar. But Rough country is good stuff.

thank you for your input. I ordered the rough country kit today. I have been going back and forth on which lift to go with and couldn't get a straight answer from anyone with personal experience. again thanks for your input. i figured if i wanted to upgrade the shocks i could do that later. You know how it is you never actually finish a jeep. lol

You'll be happy with your choice. Rough country is great quality stuff. I don't care what anyone says. There's also some youtube videos on the install but it's pretty straight forward. I've even towed with the kit. I have a 5500 lbs travel trailer. Barely even sags in the back with this kit. Springs are twice as thick as factory ones.

Now all I have to do is wait for it to come in. They are saying may 16. After waiting two years for work to level out after covid to spend extra money on the gladiator waiting is the worst. lol
