Tires rubbing on new control arms.

Running Vision Tacticals with a -44 offset and 4.7 back space on 40x14.5r20 tires. Had the lift and tires on for a week with regular driving. Seeing some decent rubbing on my driver side control arm. Passenger also but not as bad. Also the sway bar link on driver side is on an angle and not straight up and down like passenger side.

I know there is a way to adjust the lock steer distance but is there anything else to adjust before I have to look into spacers.

Hey guys??? The OP listed his backspace around 4.7”… should he be more like 3.5 to 3” with that wide of tire? I know on my lift they ask for at least 4.5” or less to keep from rubbing… also op, are you a sport? With the shorter axles?

im thinking spacers but not sure of the implications.

Steering stop adjustment not a bad way to go.
Probably should be expected with that big of tire and 20" wheels.

Yeah I believe 3.5" is the magic number for the wide axle and 40s. It's not just width but also the diameter since they'll reach further back.

Aftermarket lower control arms require less backspace lower offset wheels which you have but you added a ton of width to the wheel which then reduces the backspacing.

You should have 4.5 MAXIMUM. 3.5 backspacing is what you would be looking for for that width. Look at any of the real offroad wheels for specs....KMC grenade or weld beadlocks all have 3-3.5.

I'll double check the track bar axel alignment. Before I took it in for alignment it was shifted a little to the driver side. If not corrected it would make this worse.

Really thinking the spacer is what I'll need ATP. Everything I researched led me to an offset of -44 would be fine with this wide of tires. Hell others are running 15.5 with no spacers and same offset.

I would definitely check the the axle is properly centered. Seems to be shifted more driver for sure.

That bend is part of the design. Double checked and these are mounted correctly with adjustment side at the frame per Rusty's info.

What he said. Also the sway bar links seem to shift towards the driver side at the bottom (especially the driver side).
