) on a '93 ZJ Laredo with low miles. Ran that to 113K and stoopidly sold it for a '96 RAM 1500 4x4 extra cab (transmissioon was junk) which two years later, traded that in for a '96 ZJ Laredo. Ran that one to over 240K. Engine and trans were still strong and it didn't burn oil but had electrical issues, hence the getting rid of.These photos are awesome thanks for sharing!I bought a brand new Samurai in 1993 and it’s still my favorite vehicle if all time. 18 years later it was beat to hell and I retired it. Since I couldn’t buy another new one, I bought a new JK and loved it. When the JT came out I had to have one. I wanted a truck so it’s the perfect combo for me.

This is the ultimate timeline! Quite an adventure you have had! Thank you for sharing!I actually got myself into them in the mid 90's.
I had a beautiful Chevy Silverado extra cab 4x4 ('93) that I ordered just the way I wanted it. Three years later (just as the warranty ran out...) the PCM went bad. I traded it in on a 1995 Cherokee Sport. I was living in MA at the time and that thing was a beast in the snow!!! Unfortunately, it had a body defect that allowed the rear carpeting to get wet, and that spring when it got hot, soured and smelled moldy. After EXTENSIVE cleaning didn't get rid of the smell, I traded it (A/C was running when the dealer looked at it so no mold smell) on a '93 ZJ Laredo with low miles. Ran that to 113K and stoopidly sold it for a '96 RAM 1500 4x4 extra cab (transmissioon was junk) which two years later, traded that in for a '96 ZJ Laredo. Ran that one to over 240K. Engine and trans were still strong and it didn't burn oil but had electrical issues, hence the getting rid of.
Drove a '98 Exploder for a few years and HATED it but, it was all I could afford at the time.
Then, my Dad gave me his '93 Grand Cherokee Laredo. LOVED that car. Unfortunately, I rolled and totaled it due to some blood pressure meds I was taking...passed out behind the wheel ?
Bought an '02 GC SE with the 4.7L in it. Kept that for a while but needed more towing power. Traded that in on an '08 GC Overland with the Hemi. LOVED that vehicle. Mild lift and bigger tires, towed VERY well and actually got 'okay' mileage on the highway (21 mpg).
Sold that when I moved to Kyiv, Ukraine to teach English in the summer of '18.
Came back, had to stay because of family issues and bought a 2011 GC Overland with the Hemi. Nice vehicle but, a real pig on gas. I was lucky to get 16 mpg on the highway
May 2019: Ordered my Gladiator Overland.
June 2019: Traded the 2011 GC Overland for a 2019 GC Ltd. V-6. Stoopid thing gets over 26 mpg on the highway ?
July 2019 took delivery of my Gladiator. LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!
So, with a few exceptions, since '96, I've been a Jeep guy when I could afford it. Both Jeeps are paid for and will keep them for as long as possible.
LONG LIVE JEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?????
Never be Jeepless again!I always wanted one since I was a little kid. I don't know why. Then my buddy bought one when we were in high school (a used 97 TJ). About 10 years ago, he was looking to sell that TJ to pay for a new truck (no Gladiators yet back then, and brutes were crazy expensive). My wife (then girlfriend) needed a vehicle. It was meant to be. It was a 5 speed soft top, with no air, but served us well for a while. But eventually just too much rust. We went jeepless for about 5 years, when we traded it for a Compass (haha). Now we're back in the Jeep game with a JKU 75th and a JTR. I don't ever want to be jeepless again.
Dang, that almost looks familiar.........I always thought Wranglers were cool as a kid but no one I knew had one.
My wife and I needed a dive truck for our island home and she wanted something unique. We both thought of the Gladiator and bought a ‘21 Willys and have loved it over the last year. We shipped it to the island last week and within 24 hours we were back buying amother one. Went with a Rubicon this time.![]()
The distinction between Wrangler and CJ made sense at the time, since the CJ was getting a bad rap from rollovers and media reports. But it was really just a rebranding and a new generation. After all, a YJ Wrangler has much more in common with a CJ than a TJ Wrangler has with a JL Wrangler, or even a JK has with a JL, and yet they are all wranglers. In my view, different names, but continuations of the same vehicle. It's more even than spiritual successor. They shared many parts. CJs and YJs were more closely related than two back to back generations of civic or F150.Back when the “wrangler” came out. Now we see dummies calling a CJ a wrangler. It was the Jeep guys, exclusively CJs. The FJ40 guys and new yuppies in a YJ
