Gladiator Recall CSN Z37

My 2021 Gladiator was in for its first oil change at 6,500 miles and the dealer attempted to perform the recall CSN Z37 - Powertrain Control Module Software. In the process the Powertrain Control Module was fried. The vehicle will not run at this point and the part is apparently on backorder.

3 dealers in the US have the part but will not sell it to my dealer. How long will this vehicle but undriveable?

This is essentially a brand new Gladiator that I am paying for that I cannot drive. Who do I contact for assistance?

You can contact @JeepCares but all they will do is touch base with the dealership on your behalf.

Do not expect to get any front of the line special attention. There has been a handful of other posts with people claiming the same issue.

This was shared yesterday too. I shared with my dealership. I met with them yesterday and there is no good news with my Gladiator to-date. They cannot find a PCM anywhere. According to them they cannot switch from a new Gladiator on the lot due to the PCM and the key being programmed together. I suggested they use the PCM from a new truck and use the key from that new truck as well. I have a loaner Pacifica for the time it takes.

That’s just despicable. Independent or not, they represent the brand..

Cannibalization is double labor the dealership does not get paid for unless corporate tells them to do it. They rather just have you pissed and waiting for parts than to have a unsalable vehicle on the lot.

Only place I found it was going through FCA Tech Authority portal with a paid subscription and downloading a "Equipment Sheet" from there that attaches the sales codes to the options.

I have attached mine and the ERC sales code is for the 3.6L engine and NZE code is for the GPEC 5 Engine Controller.

If your PCM in the engine bay has the two connectors on top, then it is GPEC 5 Engine Controller. If the PCM connectors are on the side, then it is the legacy PCM.

That makes sense. I'm in sales and my motto is - if you don't ask the answer is always no. So I asked.
Not unheard of but more times than not they will avoid it if at all possible. Just opens a Pandora's Box on their end if they do it. Easy for the customer to look at a new vehicle lot and just think they are all just built spares to get you out of your problem but it just shifts problems onto the dealer.

Lastly, I sure as shit would not want to buy a " new" vehicle that was a reconstituted parts pig for someone else.
