Just out of curiosity I got an offer from Vroom on mine. $48,461. That's almost to the penny what I owe on it, and I just got the truck 5 months ago.

I've never seen anything like this in my life. Very crazy times, and I have a bad feeling it's not going to end well.
You're probably right with the rates going up. If I was a dealer, I'd be worried.

So I had this discussion with my daughter this evening over our meal. I actually didn't bring it up but my mother in law did. My daughter mentioned she doesn't like driving again. So my mother in law asked her how come usually teenagers would kill to be able to drive like when we were growing up. My daughter told her no none of her friends like to drive. They rather text to each other on the phone and really don't want to talk to each other in person. So your spot on with your assessment at least regarding my daughter and her circle but I see it with a lot of the kids at her school. She told me we are just old people who have this hang up about needing to have physical contact or presence with other people.
What a world it will be...

Homo Sapiens have had 35K years of evolution being a in person social creature. To put the brakes on that within the last 20 years, comes at a psychological cost and detriment to society at large.

I get the same crap from my kids about being "old" at 54 years of age. I like to piss them off when they start texting me about stuff and call them to verbally talk to them. I do not play the 30 minutes of texting back and forth when it can be wrapped up in a 1 minute phone conversation.
Actually H. sapiens is 200,000 based on recent sites in East Africa, but I get your point. My grandkids can't even imagine being my age at 73.

I get a little sad when I think about how different my kid's childhoods are from my own. I grew up in rural Utah and was never inside my house. My kids live in the city and meet their "friends" in Fortnite lobbies. I remember being excited about Christmas beginning in early February because getting toys wasn't as easy as a finger manipulation on my phone in the Amazon app... My kids get junk all year long and have a hard time making a Christmas list. I guess it's my fault.... I'm going to go yell at my kids to play outside.
Funny, I grew up in east San Diego County in cattle country (It's now Rancho San Diego), and spent very little time in the house. Our mother would tell us to go outside anyway. I will say that my granddaughters (21 and 18) have many friends, both have cars (one a Tacoma), and are outdoors types (they live in Alpine). Since you're in San Diego you get the geography.

Used Gladiators are popping up everywhere here. I guess it is a combination of leases expiring and probably high gas prices.

Yea, the wild-resale train is leaving the station. At least on under 25 MPG vehicles.

My 22 hydro blue Rubicon was just declared a total loss due to being rear ended. Insurance paid out $14k over the original MSRP. The used ones on the lot were no cheaper than the new ones.

I just bought my JTRD after selling my Tesla Model Y that I bought nine months ago, drove 12K miles on and Carmax paid me more for it than what I bought it for. Now that's resale value!

I had a similar experience with my Tacoma. Did you not like the Tesla Model Y? Or did you just decide to take advantage of the wild resale prices?

Are you replacing the Gladiator with another Gladiator? Will you be able to break even?
I bought a new white 22 Rubicon to replace my 4 month old one. The new one came with the Mopar auxiliary switches and color matching fender flares and hard top. My new note came in at $4 less a month while my new interest rate went up by .75% ?

Not to bad of a deal.

I am on the fence with this one. I have a 21 Mojave. I should of purchased a Rubicon with the heavy tow package for what I need(got sucked in at how good looking the damned Mojaves are). I'll be stopping by the dealer this week to have a chat. I don't mind ordering the Rubicon as I do have a commuter car.
