After selling our house and spending my “gun allowance” for the rest of the year (so the wife thinks), I’ve got money left over for wheels and tires.

I’ve being eyeing the AEV Pintler wheels as I really like the offset +25.
Not into the tires sticking out from the arches, want to keep it fairly stock looking. 5 of them run me to about $1600+ tax

Tires are another matter. I honestly have zero brand loyalty but have enjoyed the Wildpeaks that came stock. Wouldn’t mind something that rides the similar, isn’t incredibly noisy (no mud terrains, don’t need them) and give an actual lift over the stock tires. Looks like tires are going to be around $2000 ouch!

Spend my money for me! Or tell me I’m an idiot for wanting to spend $3600+ on getting an inch and a bit of more ground clearance

Just empty every pocket

Nitto’s are made in America. ??
Methods are light weight, aluminum but made in China :( - great customer service (race support)

Someone else chime in with a made in America wheel (for street/all terrain use)

I really wanted +25 offset wheels. But I really, really, really wanted steel wheels, and those generally don't come with that high an offset. So the choice came down to Method 703s or AEV Salta XRs at +25 for $300 each, or Tactik Classic 5 Spokes at +6 for $66 each.

Considering steel was what I had in mind even before I knew the price difference, it wasn't a difficult tipping point for me. Despite my Jeep ownership, I am cheap at heart.

Also happened to be one of the lucky $80 kenda klever buyers, so I got wheels and 35s all together for $800. Another $200 on tpms switchover and install, and I'm sitting on new wheels and 35s for $1000. Sold my takeoffs for $900.

Wife was questioning my sanity when I told her I wanted to put brand new wheels and tires on a truck I hadn't even received yet but after she saw the math, she said she loves the look of the steel wheels and 35s, and that I should have done it even if it had cost me a lot more than $100

You can't go wrong with a BFG. Some may disagree but I have always had great results with them. Not sure what size you are eyeing but the 315's and the 37x12.50 can be had in a C load rating and ride great. I have the 315's on my JL and just hung the 37's on my Gladiator.

I do, enlighten me sir
What is this about? I’d like to know more as I have USAA
Just Google search usaa Goodyear discount. Top result should be a USAA perks webpage. Log in to usaa, click on Goodyear deals, and it will take you to the Goodyear site but now everything is 25% off. This 25% off stacks on any rebates available. So if you wait for buy 3 get 1 free you can buy a set of 4 for about 44% off by stacking deals.

315/70r17 wranglers are normally 322, can get them for 242 each, or 181 each with buy3get1

I was shocked by the cost of my BFG’s also. First time in a long time I’ve actually put wheel locks on a vehicle.

^ That’s awesome (USAA). Thank you for pointing that out.

Im also leaning toward doing the AEV Pintlers, but I was thinking about just mounting the stock rubber for now, as I don’t really need bigger tires at the moment.

The USAA thing is a great tip. The wife has an account with them. Waiting for her to wake up so I can get the details haha

I think most will agree they are good tires. They just run small. If you are looking at 37’s for a bfg this means buying a 39” tire.

Yep tires and wheels cost a lot if you can find them and they’re not on National back order but hey you can’t take it with you so spend it and enjoy it that’s what I do I am not leaving anybody anything because none of my bunch ever went to work for me in the 30 years I worked swing shifts so they could eat good and have what they wanted so I am all for spending my money on ME so get your tires and wheels and be sure to show the wife first thing when you get them put on
