No, definitely not cloth. It may be a vinyl, or maybe they killed some naugas to get naugahyde, but it's not cloth/fabric.

These are either all leather, or, leather with fake leather worked in.

You are correct Combination of leather and vinyl. The vinyl is what I used to supply. It’s in everything from a Kia to a Porsche. I believe but I’m not certain that the leat her portion is usually the highway areas so the edges etc.

Note the wording difference - leather seats vs. leather trimmed seats.
Today, the Grand Cherokee L has Palemro leather seats. Again, not leather trimmed.
So, if I bought based on that wording, I'd expect the GC L to have leather seats.
With the Gladiator, in the back of my mind I always assumed "trimmed" meant you didn't get a whole cow worth of leather.

So apparently, they may still be more than just leather trimmed.
...............................
My Overland had "Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats" so I always assumed it was partial leather with the leather on the seating area. However, it also had a "Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel" so at least that was all leather. :like:

I do have another vehicle that has an all leather interior... dash (upper, lower and even the glove box), seats, door panels, door sills etc. Makes it feel more luxurious than all the plastic in cars nowadays.

I'm so spoiled, I'm used to luxury - my 1982 has a leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped shift knob, and leather shift boot. How could I ever downgrade from that?

Corinth is famous for its leather!

But on a serious note, Corinthian leather was a bullshit marketing term chosen to sound fancy. It was the same leather in every other Chrysler model and it was made in New Jersey.

It’s very easy to tell which parts are leather and which are vinyl though

Cost savings. I have the same seats in my Overland and they’ve nice quality and very comfortable. I can’t tell what’s not leather, but always assumed it to be vinyl on the seat backs and sides. I figure the dash too so it would hold up better against UV rays.

It’s still $1,595 though, seems like you’d get all leather for that, you’re right though, they’re still nice.

Eh, I’ve had new BMWs and Audis without full leather. You have to go really high end to get full leather and even then it’s usually optional. Hell, real leather is optional on a 3 series and it’s like the Jeeps and most vehicles where it’s the seating surfaces. Iirc, you can go up above that and get full leather, but it’s about the same price bump again. You might have to go up to the 5 series for full leather to be an option.

Is McKinley the new Corinthian leather?
Good one.

Apparently McKinley trimmed is a notch up from just ordinary leather trimmed.
The leather comes from only the best cows raised under the best conditions and fed only organic feed or grass. They massage the cows daily to ensure the leather is supple.
The cows are then killed with dignity at Bovine University.

The leather is actually sourced from a single supplier who has a government permit to raise cattle inside the boundaries of Denali National Park. It's very rare and not heavily advertised. They call it McKinley leather after the prior name of the mountain as GM has the rights to the name Denali.

(just kidding)

They must be well hidden - maybe to keep away from the wolves, bears and other critters...........
