I cannot find a definitive answer.

Trying to find the ratio’s of each gear for both transmissions to compare
3.0 has the 8HP75
3.6 has the 850RE

A lot of sources folks are claiming that they are the same…. But they are different units- so I would imagine the ratios are different for several reasons.

If anyone has this information, please post up, and if possible supply a source.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Edited- fat fingered and flipped the trans to motor

Gear ratios appear to be the same in both versions according to a Google search and several sources.

I agree that I have found comments saying that they are the same, but I have not found anything definitive that shows what each gears ratio is for each trans. Given the power band differences I would expect there to be a difference in ratios.
Especially since the manufacturer opted to only offer the diesel 8HP75 to be furnished with the 3.73 gearing in the rear end.

Ratios may be the same however the trans ratings are different. The design is different the build quality is different. Where they are built is different. The zf design stalantis built is for the gas. The zf design and zf built is for the diesel. Tq and hp rating is different as well.

I was looking for this information to make a decision on differential gears. Totally understand the torque rating differences/ overall differences. The challenging part was sourcing the gear ratios- both of these transmissions are used in so many applications it makes it challenging to know what applies to the JT directly.

This is awesome!
I might be blind…. Or misinformed. The rubicon diesel transfer case is the MP1622 correct?

I’m using this for reference:
https://www.moparpartsinc.com/a/Jee..._9699998/Transfer-Case-Assembly/i2584257.html

The site you provided, I am not seeing this transfer case available. Is their another transfer case that folks are using to show the 2.7 4-hi and 4.0 4-low ratios? (I am playing with it, but haven’t found one yet).

Edit- ? I see the option to enter your own numbers now… sorry!

High range in all gladiatots(all Jeeps for that matter that I’m aware) are 1:1

Low ramgr for rubicon is 4:1. The rest are 2.72:1

This could very well be true- I’ll look around today sometime to see if I can confirm what transfer case is under the jeep (I’ll probably climb under and see if it’s marked).
The np231 that was in JK rubicon’s, in high was 2.7, low was 4.0:1.

I posted above that it looks like the JT diesel rubicon has the MP1622- which I know NOTHING about.

I’ll dive deeper ?

High range has always been 1:1. If it was 2.7:1, you wouldn't be able to move very fast. Some JKs had a 2.72:1 low range. High range for all has been 1:1.
