  1. Keeping birds away?

Owl statues work too. You have to move them around or the nesting birds will realize that they aren’t going to be rated by a bigger bladder bird.
  2. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

I’m not wanting to be a wet blanket...but, unless you put that wheel Jack on a removable mount you’re going to have issues too. My opinion is that either you will make it removable or it will be removed on the trail.
  3. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

I agree with the sentiment of many of the other guys that a real off road camper would have been a different result. NoBO is a reputable product but a small lift and AT tires doesn’t make you an off road rig. The real rigs have the tanks tucked up in the frame and rock sides on the corners.
  4. Factory Rock Rails vs. Jeep Performance Rock Rails

The rock slide engineering didn’t really fit my needs. More than six months of the year I have my hard doors removed so I would have to add the relay to make the step work. I’m only 50 and can still climb into and out of my Jeep pretty easy so the Mopar rails were the best solution in my case.
  5. Factory Rock Rails vs. Jeep Performance Rock Rails

I have the Mopar performance. Factory quality and fit with the extra protection. I have no complaints about them at all
  6. Factory Rock Rails vs. Jeep Performance Rock Rails

They have an extra benefit of protecting the door hinges and rear fenders from road debris picked up and thrown from the front tires. I have them on my LE and would add them again if I got a new Gladiator.
  7. Stock wheels with biger tires

I have 37-12.5 KO2S on my Gladiator with the two in Mopar lift. Picked it up June of 2019 with 12 miles and the lift and tires were already mounted. It now has over 31,000 miles without rubbing or weird tire wear. With modern radial tires the tread shape stays the same regardless of the wheel...
  8. So, what is everybody towing?

Wife, son and two daughters means we need 5 bunks at a minimum. Hike doesn’t have a model that satisfies our needs
  9. So, what is everybody towing?

One thing to consider when pulling closer to the maximum is whether the trailer has a tandem or single axle. A tandem axle trailer will tow much better and track much mor straight than a single axle. This is why I have started shying away from the No Boundaries and towards the Winnebago Micro...
  10. So, what is everybody towing?

Another thing to consider is when you upgrade that $5k will carry forward to your next deal.
  11. So, what is everybody towing?

Jayco is a very good name. If you got a sweet deal then I personally think you made the right choice. Heck I prefer to save $25k and borrow a sweet RV from a buddy. Unfortunately my buddies are about as generous as I am!
  12. So, what is everybody towing?

$5k ain’t nothing to sneeze at! That’s found money for modifications. I did some research and the Micro Minnie is only 4 inches more narrow than the NoBo 19.8 so that is really no benefit. BUT the tandem axle is still what I want. The MM weighs less dry and has 500 lbs more GVWR so a man...
  13. So, what is everybody towing?

I went to see them today and think I many be more interested in the Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH. It has almost the same features and layout as the NoBo 19.8 but it has a tandem axle. Tandem axle will to much better and ride smoother than a single. It also is only 7 feet wide making it much...
  14. So, what is everybody towing?

We are looking at campers tomorrow too. I’m leaning towards a NoBo 19.8. I really like the features like the factory cold weather package and if you can believe it the local dealer has one on the lot. My problem, I’m a Jeep guy after all, is that I want to make a few changes as soon as I get...
  15. Towing in the snow/ice

And I might add that’s a sweet little trailer. Who is the dealer?
  16. Towing in the snow/ice

Those are electric brakes. The little battery box that activates the brakes during a breakaway is the clue.
  17. Ultimate Overlanding and Camping Power Source

I bet you will get over 7 hours when you avoid the efficiency loss of converting DC to AC and then back to DC but probably not a full 8 hours. What voltage does your CPAP machine use? May still have to step it up or down.
  18. Decent rock rail/step

I have the Mopar rock slider/step and really like them. They protect the rear fenders and door hinges and work perfect as a step.
  19. 58qt fridge kill my battery

The question wasn’t about a solution for his needs it was how long would it last without killing the battery until he is able to upgrade to a more reliable plan. I went with an extreme solution because I sell batteries and refrigerators and want to show off my products. Most people would do...
  20. 58qt fridge kill my battery

Thanks for teaching me something! I was inspired to do some reading and the AGM in our Jeeps makes more sense than just vibration resistance. Everything is so electronic in all modern vehicles AGM is the common sense solution, especially when you throw in the auto stop start feature. After...
