  1. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

If that's what they do it would just be better to go aftermarket and not have neutering software installed. If its new in the sense that it's new in a box off the shelf and not new in the sense of design, a few thousand dollars is worth keeping my original engine output parameters to me. I just...
  2. 317 miles of MOAB trails have been closed [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

It's a good watch if you have the time.
  3. 317 miles of MOAB trails have been closed [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Absolutely, and everyone should realize it. In their documents they said they feel motorized use is morally inferior. Groups like this in all states are actively working to shut it down everywhere. People need to wake up and get active if they want to be able to use their offroad toys anywhere...
  4. 317 miles of MOAB trails have been closed [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Anything with an engine. The paddlers who got this pushed through had a "social values conflict" with people who were motorized. They do not want even the potential to see or hear a motorized vehicle.

Oh man. Read the last few pages.
  6. 317 miles of MOAB trails have been closed [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

SxS's have really have opened up a lot of opportunity for people who previously had no experience with being deep offroad. I personally have grown to dislike the SxS crowd. They're getting land shut down and the hobby regulated quick.
  7. PUNK'N Gladiator JT Club

Order banks opened for it the week of July 14th 2019, and closed the week of February 2nd 2020. It was open over 6 months. It was the first late availability color to be dropped, but after it launched, you still had a good 26-28 weeks or so to order one. It just had such a low take up they...
  8. PUNK'N Gladiator JT Club

The last time Punk'n was available, it was open for about 6 months, and it just had a low take-up rate. It was available for a long time and it just was not popular, it's a funny thought charging more for it, I guess time and true scarcity will do that.
  9. Help with water tank plumbing

One thing to remember is the bane of PEXs existence is UV. I've built a lot of water systems in PEX, PVC, HDPE, Copper, etc. Copper is my favored material for sure but may be overkill for what you're wanting. I'd probably do PVC. It's cheap, easy to do as a DIY project, just measure, cut in one...
  10. Building my own flush tail lights

Oh I'm not looking to try to turn it into a business venture by any means. Just complete the project, I have a fetish for sequential turn signals, and maybe make them available to the people who had already voiced interest here. We just had our 4th baby, I don't have the time to start a new...
  11. Building my own flush tail lights

Well I won't say I'm not bummed. Was just thinking last night how cool these were going to end up being. I would volunteer to finish what was started but computer programming is just too tedious for me. I did it college, and passed that class, but absolutely abhorred it. Apple pays my brother a...
  12. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I just edited the post to include that they're essentially blaming drivers for exploding their pressure plates. It's laughable. The aftermarket clutch guys will be selling clutches like hotcakes if they end up replacing the original clutch assembly with the exact same clutch assembly.
  13. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

This is what wouldn't make sense. They have a bad clutch design, they say they have a bad design, and then they use the exact same part to repair the design problem that forced them into a recall? They think they can just stop overheating enough that it doesn't cause damage? That just doesn't...
  14. Building my own flush tail lights

Oh man no, I am a patient man. And I absolutely want sequential lights. I am not itching for new taillights by any means, so I have no problem waiting for these.
  15. Building my own flush tail lights

Been a minute and had to actually search for the thread. So just posting to keep showing interest and to bump the thread. Hopefully your commuting hasn't drained you too terribly, 20 hours in the car a week for work sucks.
  16. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I'm at 55k with none of the 3 recalls done yet. I'm curious to see what the new clutches are like. Hopefully we get some 2018/2019 JL guys giving info here soon.
  17. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I like that planned Dealer/Owner notification. So did they know this was what was going to happen in April, and they just didn't tell us? That's nice.
  18. Korisu Build ('22 JTR)

I read a bikers fantastic Lewis and Clark trip once over on the advrider forum years ago now. Such a cool trip, there's a lot to do and see on that trip. Dragging, poleing, sailing, oaring etc at 1mph for 1500 miles to Ft Mandan there are a lot of camp sites known, and unknown on the Ohio...
  19. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

She posted this story on Facebook. There were 2 around the same time. One was from her husband leaving the generator running in the back while driving around. I can't remember if it was this one or the other. I remember one was a grooming business for sure. But I distinctly remember one of them...
