Up Next
Next up I will install 37’s and report back on how that changes things as well.
After that I will change out factory upper A arms (and at that time work in getting caster in line with RKs recommendation). And upgrade to the pro x triangulated 4 link.
Before that I plan to do some...
First impressions
I had a moment of panic as when I started to drive my anti collision said it was not working as well as my electronic stability control. I had a suspicion this was due to me not centering the steering wheel though. A quick google confirmed this so I centered the steering wheel...
Back Installation
The next day I returned around 11 pm to start on the back. In short order I had the shocks, springs, and upper A arms removed. I would say in just about an hour this was done.
Next I had to drill some holes for the track bar relocation bracket and for the bump stops. Just...
Front Installation
Once it arrived I loaded it up and drove over to my friends shop.
I started around 4pm and worked till about 12am (diner break included) at which time I had all of the front installed but had not torqued everything up yet. All in all the install went well. A few of the...
Background and Ordering
I have made several comments in the RK thread but I thought I’d start my own thread to document some of the changes as I go since I will be doing my suspension in a few stages.
I just rolled over 9000mi In my Rubicon. Afterdoing a bit of rockcrawling and getting stuck on...
I wanted to give my first impressions of the lift. First installation instructions were good. I only ran into one or two small items to work through. Overall great job on the instructions though.
When I first got in to drive I felt the suspension was much firmer. I was actually worried I might...
I finished installing the lift today. I started yesterday afternoon and finished this evening. I pretty much completed it all myself with a couple of floor jacks and a couple of sets of jack stands. Next up, new wheels and tires!
I had a whole bunch of questions on joints, setup, etc and started to ask them in this forum and found RK’s YouTube Channel that answered most of my questions. I picked that up the difference in a video I watched recently! Also it is easy to move to the newer setup when you rebuild it only...
I ordered from Northridge first week in July. I asked them for an update and they said they expect to receive 500 units in “any day”. My order also said it would ship directly from manufacturer but when I asked about that the Northridge rep said that it would ship from them.
I am looking at the 3” kits. I’m looking at gradually upgrading to the pro-x as I get the time. I have a few questions:
1) is the difference between the max travel and X factor the front UCA’s and rear LCA’s being included in the X Factor or are there other differences? What is the functional...
I
I went ahead and drilled a couple of new holes just forward of the original holes to mount the bull bar. Here is a pic. I’d say not bad to have a winch and bumper for $765! I also can tell you at least 4 ways not to install the bumper of you are interested!
Ok use the “L” or “7” shaped brackets to mount the winch plate the the frame. The two bolt holes in the bracket attach to the long slot on the winch plate. The bracket should face down and towards the rear of the vehicle. The bracket then mounts to the frame. The fasteners are the large bolts...
