Squeaky wheel gets the grease... I've got 10 CDJR dealers in a 50 mile radius from me and will go outside the radius if need be to get an issue resolved. So far, the one I've dealt with has been great but I'm not loyal in any way to them if they start playing games.
About a week after my ā22 EcoD was bought back and I bought a ā23 gasser I struggled with the relative lack performance. I looked into buying a used Wrangler or Gladiator Rubicon EcoD with under 50k miles within a 500 mile radius. I found a few and all but one had multiple previous owners...
Both my wife and I had to save up to be broke growing up.
We fell into the debt trap early in life as we didnāt know any better but about 15 years ago we pulled ourselves out, went without some things and now have no debt and our adult kids are breaking the cycle.
You believe a CP4 (not 4.2) is being retrofitted onto the EcoDiesel? That would make sense if there is an additional kit required but it now begs the questions what the plumbing will look like and what warranty / extended warranty will be offered for this new design.
When I had my 2021 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (bought back by FCA) it had the 3.21 gear set. Other 5.7 and 3.6 variants had the optional 3.73 or 4.10 gear sets depending on how they were setup - tow package or not. The mileage differences between the 5.7 and 3.6 were +/- a few MPG's.
I think the rumors are correct about it being the same pump s the schematics look the same. What is included in the pump kit? Thereās no details on whatās included.
Same old CP 4.2 from the schematics and superseded part numbers for vehicles dating back to 2014. New-Old-MaybeTheSame-CP42
October 2023 seems to be "the date" they'd have to start shipping these last 1000 diesel Gladiators for $70k a piece.
My 1996 Peterbilt 379 with a Cummins has 800k miles on it and is all original. Zero issues.
My 2022 EcoDiesel blew the pump and took the fuel system with it at 9500 miles. FCA bought it back and I picked up a 2023 gasser. The MPG has dropped but I didnāt buy either for the economy.
Modern...
Took mine down a two lane dirt road at dusk. Windows down, crickets chirping, dust flying and the scent of a warm breeze through the pine trees. It was just about perfect.
