Welcome to Indy! I'm up in the northern burbs. Not thought about an air horn, but I always thought it'd be cool to have my horn play the opening riff to the A-Team theme. Duh duh duuuuuh, duh duh daaah....
Thanks. Something else must've been going on I'm not aware of. Thankfully end of the day got it done. Don't foresee having to do it all again for quite a while...knock on wood!
Did you disconnect them completely? I removed the brackets on the frame/control arms. If that's the case, I am definitely doing that for any future projects.
No we did it front axle then rear. Knowing what I know now I think I could easily shave 3-4hrs off the install time. I thought about trying that on the rear but I had already flexed my lines and didn't want to mess with disconnecting those. That might be another lesson learned.
Just adding my experience to this thread for others who are looking to self-install. I watched several videos on youtube of the install and was confident my dad and I could handle the project. Some things I learned:
1 - While not absolutely necessary, a heavy duty impact wrench will be your best...
Cooper has a 34" AT3 XLT that I was looking at before I bought my pull off rubi wildpeaks & wheels. Probably gonna do those next. Those seemed to be about the max (safely) on stock width.
I will wrestle a bear, fight a wolf, and swing a rattle snack like a bullwhip........but spiders?.......I gotta have my 4 yo daughter take care of those. I have major willies just looking at this.
I know OP said "buy", but just double checking they aren't leasing. I like the idea of them buying yours out if they'll do it. Otherwise, part the mods and sell! If they buy and it's truly yours, that cash in hand could make for one hell of a build. BTW, if they're buying you a vehicle, I assume...
I've not noticed a difference of more than an MPG or so. Done a few short interstate trips of 100 miles or so with the wind in my.....hair. 1000 miles is a bunch. I'd keep doors on and just roll down windows and pop the top back (or freedom panels out) for the freer experience. Plus, weather is...
Unless you got a screamin' deal and don't wanna cancel, I'd forget that order and getcha some of that 2 day shipping on Amazon! We have a shared account so I can see she ordered it Th and it was there Saturday. I had parked the truck for a couple days and got back in for a trip to the store and...
Cherokee I kind of understood. Don't have a dog in the fight and am pushing myself to check my emotional response and think more critically and openly when these kinds of conversations come up.
For Mojave, I always just equated it directly to the desert. Just did some reading to learn of the...
Did you hear the plate sliding on the snow? How hard was it packed? Seems unlikely (not impossible) there'd be a break. Was it the snow saying "I give"?
Bed fo sho. Manual towing ain't that great but it does the job for our scout trailer. Love having a lined bed i can beat the hell out of and still look good. Throw my tonneau cover on there and tons of lockable storage. Traded my Silverado in on this. Not as big a bed but I'm a weekend warrior...
My wonderful wife got me a fox steering stabilizer for valentine's day. Quick install and drive around the country. Very nice. Steering is nice and tight. Recommended inexpensive upgrade.
