It’s not an unreasonable thing to do if you have a lift. No sense in wearing out expensive off road tires if you can swap them in 20 minutes with the right equipment.
I don’t have a lift, but I have swapped back to stock for long trips.
Thought I did great getting 20% off of a 24 Silverado. 38% is crazy.
Got 16% of on my 23 JT Rubicon last year. Probably could have waited and done better, but this one was optioned exactly how I wanted it. No regrets. love the JT.
Shortest span of time is between when the light turns green and I hit my horn.
I’m so sick of people staring at their phones when they should be watching the light.
Was at the Ford dealer looking at trucks. They had a two door Bronco on the showroom floor. It’s a great looking vehicle and extremely comfortable. Jeep should be worried. So much better for the money.
Most useless accessory I have is the seat cover on the passenger’s side.
She won’t get out and drag winch cable.
She won’t get out and spot.
She won’t help clean the Jeep when we’re done.
To me, it looks like the engineers got drunk, blindfolded themselves, went to the parts bins, and just slapped together whatever they came back with.
But, some may like it. To each his own.
Similar thing happened to me when I put a hardtop on my JK that came with the soft top only. Adjusted top hinge in a little and it fixed the leak.
Take a small slip of paper and close the door with it various spots until it slips freely out. That’s where it’s not sealing.
Friend of mine had service bays about 20 years ago. When his rate was $50/hour everyone questioned it. When he raised it to $58.76/hr no one questioned it. He said the psychology was that $50 is a random number, but $58.76 must have involved a lot of calculation.
If you plan on keeping it, a $5k diminished value claim would pay for a lot of upgrades. Fact is, it’s worth less now and you are entitled to be compensated for that.
What I love is when you go to trade in and the dealer tells you “KBB trade in values are highly inflated”. Yet every used vehicle on the lot is priced way over KBB retail.
If I didn’t get the Rubicon, I would have just gotten a Sport S. I don’t see the value in a Willys. While the Rubicon and Mojave cost more, you get most of it back when you sell or trade it.
Good advice here. I’d add in that I always clay bar a vehicle before I buff. You want every contaminant off the paint before you hit it with a buffer/polisher.
A lot of people also thought the Scrambler wasn’t a real Jeep. Look at their prices now at auction.
I’ve had a CJ, TJ, JK, JKU and now a JT. I’ve done all my own lifts and mods. Don’t want to wave at me, that’s fine. I’m more a Jeeper than those who aren’t waving at me will ever be.
