They might as well have painted the doors orange. At least that way it would look like you meant to do it.
You canāt panel paint a metallic and get a match.
Try removing interior panel so you can soak the bolts with penetrating oil. Also heat cycling stuck bolts is very effective. Have to be super cautious near painted finishes.
You will also need to add the brackets for the hardtop. Most sellers of hardtops donāt include them as they are a PITA to remove. Available as a set on Amazon. Much cheaper than dealer. Watch a UTube video for the install on the windshield brackets.
Iāve been waiting for a set Terra Grapplers to wear out so I can go bigger. Itās not happening. Bought them for the rims with 40k on them. Iāve put another 30k on them with my last two Jeeps. They will not wear out.
Just buy the tires you want and put the originals back on when you sell it.
Best to do your own. Their monkeys only go by what the computer says a 100% stock Jeep should be. The second you change anything, those specs are wrong. Most good lifts will come with adjustable lower control arms to correct caster and pinion angle.
Glad you got it figured out.
This is how my dealer tried to give me back my Jeep after a transmission replacement. They could have killed me.
āNo one will ever do what you expect, only what you inspectā.
I wouldnāt accept anything short of a complete long block and a loaner for the entire time they have it.
Every vehicle Iāve ever bought that included x number of oil changes, Iāve told them no thanks.
I put the Coverking Topliner in my JT. Not the same as painting at all.
That said, I think what I like most is the black color. The inside of the Jeep is so much darker now. Much less eye strain on long trips.
After you get your toe in plates, the first thing is to make sure your steering wheel is 100% centered. After that, I will say from experience that 1/16ā changes in toe makes a big difference in how your Jeep tracks. Small changes at a time. Too much toe and youāll be buying a lot of tires.
Bragging about Max Tow is like saying āIām the tallest short guy in the roomā.
Iāve been a Jeep guy my whole life, starting with a 1978 CJ7. Currently have a 23 JT Rub.
When I tow, I do it with my 2500 Silverado.
Iād never buy a Jeep to tow anything. Jeeps have their purpose, but towing isnāt...
Always read the estimate closely for what the adjuster writes.
Repair = bondo.
Replace = like it came from the factory.
I do not like the amount of Repair on that estimate. Itās why a $15k job is being done for $4k.
Seat jackers are great. Much more comfortable, but still not enough headroom for me. Removed the plastic trim covering the roll bar/sound bar. Huge difference in headroom now.
Often manufacturers will reduce MSRP but keep the dealerās cost the same. Essentially squeezing the dealer. Just changes how much off sticker we can get. What we ultimately pay for it, after negotiating, may not change.
