I bought my Glad used and it had all black mud tires on black rims. To me that’s about the ugliest combination you can choose. ( I of the beholder ). Reminds me of the sixties when the “cool” kids removed hubcaps. So I replaced the tires with quieter road tires and chose the white lettering. I...
I think a daily driver sub-forum would be great for those of us who use our JT on-road most if not all of the time. I've had two Wranglers- One soft top on hard top, both 2dr, two Cherokee's, and now my 2021 Willys JT which replaced one of the Wranglers. So far best of the lot. Everything works...
On my iPhone 14 it will connect to Uconnect via blue tooth and play my media, make calls,. It doesn't support messages. If I want CarPlay, I have to use USB and tell Uconnect that media input is through a USB port.
Have you setup the connection between the new phone and the in car system? Bluetooth, CarPlay? I don't think these transfer from phone to phone when you swap phones.
My Gladiator, '21 Wyllis with full fuel, and the hard bed cover came in at 4,880. Very close to max hitch numbers, and closer with GCWR. But my then 20500 GVWR V10 Ford MH pulled it like a champ.
You see both toad and towed. The latter mostly from grammarians. I just bought a smaller class C with the 7.3. It has a 7500 pound tow max on the hitch. I’ve only towed my 5k lb Gladiator once and it had no problem pulling. I had some issue with my tow bar setup causing to bucking. I’ve made...
I only know what I’ve read. Not sure I’ve seen 8 speed ( or higher) manuals. Auto’s will shift earlier, smoother, more consistent than manuals. Modern auto’s are not the same as the ones i grew up with.
I think a lot depends on how you drive, where you drive, how hard on the engine you are. I use mine as a daily drive here in central SC, high humidity and hot or moderately cold with an occasional really cold snap in the winter. So I have no reason to use other than the recommended oil as they...
You have to be really f'd up to steal a badge, but there are those out there. These days, it's high risk to put anything on your vehicle that is politically divisive. I'm still waiting for someone to damage my Glad cause it is badged with a "FJB Edition" badge on the tailgate. Seem though I may...
The Scout plant being built is just over one mile from my house. It's been amazing how much earth they have moved, natural habitats destroyed, to make this happen along with the new interstate interchange, road realignments, etc etc. The little town (Blythewood) they built this near will never...
Kevin,
Thanks for the response. Being a curious kind of guy, can you point me to a study? I’d like to understand the conditions study was performed.
Thanks,
Tom
The other why... Why do some manufacturers provide a switch that can be set off and it remembers vs Jeep that allows it to be off until restarted? I would think all vehicles sold in the USA with the ability would have to operate the same way.
With the long list of reasons for it not to engage...
Keep the current spare a spare, keep it at sidewall tire pressure, keep it clean and it should last you for 8-10 years as a spare. If you ever need it, put it on, adjust pressure to what you normally run. Get the flat/damaged tire repaired as soon as you can.
This assumes you don't need...
Every cruise control I've ever had has a +/- 5 or so mph before taking action. Newer vehicles with the more gears may lower difference. With the 8 speed, sometimes I don't even notice its dropped a gear.
Gas mileage on Ford V10, it’s what I have, is in the mid single digits. Towing will affect it some. Towing I get a bit over 6, not towing just over 7. Downwind on a flat road maybe 8.
Towing my Gladiator has not been a problem. I can tell it’s there on steep inclines but not much more than my...
