Thanks for the heads up on the pod cast, I'll give it a listen. Jeep has always stated that the 3.6 will tow more, but I don't expect it to tow better, especially here in the Colorado mountains. But I'm going to try and test drive both with my trailer in the mountains if I can swing it.
Gas...
Nice build you have going. I'll be doing a Sting Gray build for overlanding as well, just waiting to see what the final numbers are going to be on the diesel. That and I want to compare how much better it will tow my Off Grid Trailer than the 3.6L up here in the mountains. I was not planning...
Good find @WhatExit? I just ordered one to engrave on my laser. The ones linked to earlier were just a little to long to fit in my laser. It is supposed to show up mid to late next week. I'll probably have to build a jig to hold it, but I should be able to get it in the laser that weekend...
Based on the info we have now, yes to both of those. It has been pointed out that 4.10 gearing is not really needed with all of the low end torque the that the diesel has. At first I was pretty bummed about no 4.10s on the JTDR, but then I told my self that the engineers that designed this...
You are running the Black Rhino Amory wheels (17x9.5, -18 offset and 4.5 back spacing) with 35x12.5 tires correct? Any rubbing when you are twisted up like that?
I've been running them on the JKUR for a while now. The tire shop used balancing beads and I've not had any balance issues. I do have an issue with weird tread wear though...
This on multiple tires, but not all of them. I do a 5 tire rotation with every oil change as well. It does not...
Yep, in the Ouray area you can't count on all the trails being open until about 2nd week of July and they will start to close some in mid to late Sept some years as well. It's a great area though. That is a cool pic you have of the F-350. I've wanted to go early in the season just to grab a...
Thanks for taking the time to make the videot for the rest of us to use. I've not got my JT yet (diesel hold out here), but the red dash is one of the first things I want to get rid of.
Just about any local sign shop should be able to do that as a wrap for you. You could also just do the grill slots out of vinyl if you are okay with the stock color.
I'm confused on those flares. The sign says it allows you to quickly remove the stock flares, but I'm not seeing a stock flare being used on their build. To me it looks like their flare can be removed to reveal their inner liner type flare.
I run a set of Rock Hard skid plates on my JKUR when I hit the trails. I pull them off when doing overland style trips though. Just too much additional weight that is not needed. My JT will be built for overland trips, so I don't plan on getting skid plates for it... but it is nice to see...
