Good information in this thread. A regear is a tough topic. So many opinions and now the new 8 speed makes things even more interesting.
I came here not for the gearing but to share your enthusiasm with the regear. Nice Jeep 777.
Also I can attest that I bought Gears from East Coast Gear...
The champion of the Locker market has always been ARB, many have come along and made great equivalents but it still has the venerable fast acting Locking engagement. The ARB once had a 20 year patent on the tech, making them the best ever.
Well now that the patent expired Yukon, OX, and everyone...
The 31 inch tire on a reg Sport is 3.73 gears is equivalent to 37 inch tires on 4.56 gears.
The 31 inch tire on max tow with 4.10 gears is equivalent to 37 inch tires on 4.88 gears.

I am working on a 3 part axle and gear video blog for my youtube channel. Its covering the ins and out of our axles, custom 35 spline shafts, and some other stuff. Hope you guys are as excited as I am. I am the test rig for the first to market 35 spline shafts. The company did not sponsor me, I...
I just wrote a 3 video series for the ARB lockers for sports. I have 1 sitting here and also have a Dana 44 35 spline ARB rd246 unit in the mail. I will be posting them on my youtube channel in the near future. I will be doing a first to market 35 spline shaft kit from a well known company...
I can agree to a point; I can only hear chatter on washboard roads. However, on road driving is perfectly quiet.
It's definately a tinker modification compared to real disconnects. I just dropped 3 grand on lockers and first to market 35 spline shafts for the rear of the dana 44. This mod will...
So I finally piecemeal assembled my steering setup. Its not fancy but after ordering all the parts and doing the install; I regret it. I had to order parts twice due to our larger steering setup and the wrong part number. That is my fault. However, I feel the benefit gained here was so little...
Just be aware they all hang below the axle. If you do any off roading you need to look into a relocation kit. Those shocks have brackets made for the stock location.
I have used this setup on several Jeeps over the years. You can buy the straps from Home Depot for 10 dollars and the hardware for even less. In no time you can lift your top off without the need for help or expensive tools. Parts and Price Husky strap link for $8.97...
The base model has 32 spline dana 44s front and rear. The tcase is a np241 in base and rubicon. Its literally a half ton truck. Wranglers seem to not understand its the best built drivetrain ever put in a jeep sport or rubicon.
Correct, you got it. The schematic is in there just use the red only. Blue is illumination, black is ground.
I did this instead however. Factory tight look.
