With all the folks walking across the border here, there seems to be lots more people looking in my truck bed for lose items to grab and sell. I have resorted to open carry here just to make sure there is attention paid to who will strike if provoked. A quick walk around the vehicle after...
Well, I had 2 bright white Gladiators in the garage until tomorrow. Yesterday the wife woke up in the morning and said that if she knew I was going to get a Gladiator right after she got hers, she would have just got a Wrangler. My jaw dropped. I dared her to find one for a trade on her...
Especially just north of Harris Ranch.... That lot smells... Kinda hard to get your appetite up to stop for steaks if you are coming south.... The 99 is just as bad....
I had a 2018 Tundra TRD Sport with it. Same thing happened to me with it. Or on some bends in the road while driving in the passing lane traffic in the slow lane would trigger the braking mechanism and cause the (nearly) loading of the underwear in the driver's seat. I learned to anticipate...
I have had some form of adaptive cruise on my last 3 vehicles. This is my 4th vehicle with ACC and my first Jeep. I love this version. My last 3 vehicles were Toyota's and their version of ACC drops out at lower than 27 miles per hour or near that. This version on the Gladiator works all the...
I got 2 white ones. All white, roof fenders, etc... It just makes sense in the desert here. My wife would have liked hers to be black. I would love to have had one in firecracker red.
I use the pro clip, but for when it really counts I use the 857 ham radio (pictured attatched to the clip) for comms. The phone sits in the console connected to the USB network inside that console.
It was installed at the factory (according to the sticker sheet). You know that bag of stuff that comes with the truck that addresses the options (like the AUX switches and the heat shrink sections), it didn't have the vent kit.
I have 2 Gladiators. I got them about a week apart. The Rubicon came with the factory installed CAI. The Overland had (and still has) the stock system. No cutout in the hood of the Rubicon so I am thinking the vent on the hood isn't needed.
I did notice that the Overland has better gas...
I have a 21 JTR and a 21 Overland. The JTR has just over 5K miles and the Overland has just over 3.5K miles. With so little mileage, nothing to report so far. I am pretty happy with the JTR (I traded a 21 Tacoma TRD Pro), The wife loves her Overland (and she came over from a 19 4Runner Limited)...
I would say, yes.
My wife's 21 Overland has Halogens. My 21 Rubicon has LED's. I went with LED's because I had LED's on my 2021 Tacoma and earlier on my 2018 Tundra. I never want to do the Halogens anymore. The wife was just excited to get her Gladiator and didn't think of the LED lights. To...
I have 2 of these Gladiators. The wife's Gladiator is the Overland. She gets about 19 to (occasionally) 20 miles to the gallon on the highway. My Rubicon with the Wild Peaks gets about 18 miles to the gallon. I travel diverse enough terrain that I like having the Wild Peaks on the Gladiator. So...
I didn't want to get into that one. There are those Part 97 Nazi's that would have hopped all over it. The (ham radio) hobby is all about experimentation, so I am experimenting.....
Either way, I have comms that will come in handy to any off roader that may need help. I have moved away from So...
I don't think I will go the GMRS route for radio comms. I have instead installed my FT-857 in the vehicle and decided to go all out with an ATAS 120 antenna. I do have a modded Baofeng (handy talkie HT) radio to cover the GMRS/FRS stuff for those folks, but the 857 covers most or my comms needs.
