He guys and gals. I just wanted to share a little experience I’ve had with my JT. I never had any issues with my steering except for the dealer having the tires overfilled when I first purchased it (44+ PSI I believe). So, upon installing my Evo lift I decided to do the full Steer Smarts tie...
Finished up the Artec trusses and doing the ball joints in the AM.
I also ended up taking advantage of the 20% off sale last month from Artec and ordered a Nighthawk front bumper with stinger at 11:30pm on 5/31.
Yeah, I agree. It's not that expensive either. Most of the cost is having it installed unless you know how to weld. Cheap insurance if you are running larger tires. I had a ball joint fail less than 500 miles after my lift (3,500 total on the jeep). So I was forced to upgrade to the newer...
I have a Artec Apec front armor kit/truss w/fad skid, rear truss, and Dana Spicer upgraded ball joints going on this upcoming week. I also took advantage of the last day of the Artec 20% off sale and ordered a Artec Nighthawk front bumper and sway bar skid. Now I have to decide on a decent fog...
Honestly, they are a wear item and most definitely take on increased stress when you add bigger tires. Getting them warrantied is not a battle I want to fight when I roll in there with a big lift and 38Ă—13.5 tires. The ones I bought are specifically made to withstand the stress of larger...
Stage 2 begins.......
I just ordered the Artec Apex front axle armor kit w/cad skid and Apex rear axle truss. Better safe than sorry and this should buy me some time for the wontons.
Unfortunately I need to replace one now. My passenger side went right after my lift. Poking around it seems some JL peeps have experienced the same thing. Even on low mileage stock jeeps.
I see two upgrades avialable for our JT:
1. Mopar Ball Joint Kit $285
2. Dana HD Front Ball Joint Kit $199
Does anyone have any experience with either kit? Which one is stronger?
They have a dual swing out coming out in a few months. They posted concept pics a few weeks ago on here and pics of a fab up without the swingouts on Facebook a few days ago. It features a hidden hitch, side protection with step, integrated lights, back up sensors, and optional swingouts...
