I finally figured out a way to mount my cheap recovery boards! A Rough Country 15 inch Rubber Molle mount kit.
Gave me the flexibility that I wanted for mounting 2 or 4 traction boards to the truck, without being obnoxious and in the way when I need to remove them.
Before.
And after...
I have the same panels and went with the Riv Nut option, just a warning.
Had no issues drilling the front and center sides of the bed. Where I had a problem was the rear most drill point next to the tail gate.
The way the L-brackets are shaped, you naturally want to place them horizontally...
No videos of them, but I can personally tell you they are VERY heavy and are overbuilt. They have a nice flat bottom to help glide over rocks and are bolted directly to the frame. 10.9 gold zinc M14 bolts and fully welded/gusseted, I have full faith in them that they will do their job.
Well, cheapest and easiest option right now would be the RedRock side rails. $200 bucks, and you may need to trim your bumper. Gives you a bit of distance to work with to help protect the bed.
There's also a few aftermarket options. A middle of the road option would be the Body Armor 4x4 rear...
I bought that particular set from Pixel Decals back then, as well as the V2 filled decals.
Although lately I've been ordering from Adventure Life USA.
Underground Graphics and L&B Design Works are also great options.
October 2021:
Bye bye N-fab steps. Added those Rockhard sliders. Those body mount bolts were very stressful to remove. Took me over 2 hours with a heat gun on it's highest setting pressed onto the bolt, and slowly removed with breaker bars, a quarter turn at a time.
I would rather not have to...
September 2021:
Started adding small cosmetic upgrades. These would be V1 of my decal package, purchased from Pixel Decals.
Also took delivery of my Rockhard 4x4 sliders back then. Set them aside for a later install.
Barnes makes some nice stuff, so I would hope that they checked the clearances!
As for the level of effort, for me at least, 55 bucks (plus Uncle Sam's cut) is not a bad price to pay to save the trouble of measuring, cutting, and welding something together. I know I've been in situations where...
Looks like it might be a tight fit, but Barnes 4x4 has a ready to go relocation kit. Uses the factory sway bar mounting bolt, and $55 bucks is not bad at all...
Eh, I wouldn't get too hung up on the cost of the Clayton Rear track bar. I'm on a set of Yokohama Geolander G003 MT's, and I had the factory rear track bar with the 37's for a few weeks.
While it did technically fit, it was rubbing on the tread on the rear tire. I didn't want the risk of...
Rugged Ridge Max Terrain fender flares. I did a write up on them some time ago. One of my favorite mods for the truck. Clears 37's easily, even without the 2.5 inch lift. And they're pretty affordable, ran me 650 bucks when I got mine on sale with a rebate.
They're coming up on 2.5 years old...
Silver or gray aren't a bad choice for accent pieces on a red truck. Gold also works, but obviously it's a very bold/flashy choice.
I have gold on mine.
Today I found out that only 4 Maxxis Razr 37" tires will fit with the tailgate up. Despite my best efforts, the 12.5's are just a hair to wide, had to lower the tailgate for the 5th.
Mopar Part #: 82215121AE, they tend to run about $1300 on various websites.
If you're interested in something lighter and cheaper that will work with that stinger, MP Concepts has a clone that's aluminum.
I have a Voswitch JL400, it integrates nicely into the driver-side grab handle and looks factory. Also really easy to reconfigure if you change your setup.
Pretty easy to install, and is affordable, $215 bucks, same as almost 2 years ago. I use it for my GRMS Radio, Onboard air, and Reverse...
Ah, this should work for you then, factory Mopar part number, 82215528AB. And part number 82215527AB is for the offset version.
Most places have it around $65, Amazon has it as well.
Oh my god, he's so lucky/spoiled. We joke about it constantly.
One of the vet techs saw him recently and was so happy for him. Mentioned that at the shelter he was this sad looking, smelly, scrawny, dirty mutt with a broken tail and scrapped up leg when they brought him in. Showed us a picture...
