What is everyone doing for protection at the rear of the bed behind the wheels and in front of the rear bumper? Was out in the snow yesterday and came within inches of sliding into a tree right in that part of the bed. I have the Mojave model and I know that the Rubicon comes with a slider there. Just wondering what everyone who does not have a Rubicon is using, or Rubicon owners who have upgraded are using. Thanks

Well, cheapest and easiest option right now would be the RedRock side rails. $200 bucks, and you may need to trim your bumper. Gives you a bit of distance to work with to help protect the bed.

There's also a few aftermarket options. A middle of the road option would be the Body Armor 4x4 rear bumper with the optional bed protection. Bumper, rails, and extension will be about $1100 together.

As for me, I have a Rebel Offroad Summit Bumper with the optional step+slider. Thing is crazy overbuilt, I'll total the truck by the time I do any real damage to it. Ran about $1500 all said and done.

There is also the set by DV8. I have these and like them. Aesthetically I would prefer the OEM round style to match my aftermarket rock rails though.

But the DV8 set seems very well built and solid.

No videos of them, but I can personally tell you they are VERY heavy and are overbuilt. They have a nice flat bottom to help glide over rocks and are bolted directly to the frame. 10.9 gold zinc M14 bolts and fully welded/gusseted, I have full faith in them that they will do their job.

Very cool, but do they come as a pair? the website seems to refer to them in a very singular manner

They're sold as a pair. When I bought my bumper, I bought the bundle, but you can purchase the slider steps or bumper separately if you want.

I know there is another thread in here about the factory ones, that's what I went with. The other thread has the part numbers for the sliders and brackets, as well as the bolt sizes you will need to use if you can't find a set of take-offs.
