Fair enough. "Nobody" is presumptive of me. There is a market.

Most People don't want luxury high-end EVs. I guess Jeep was too far in to change course.

There's no more $7.5k incentive, and the EV market is saturated with premium vehicles.

We want electric Suzuki Samurais, not electric G-Wagens. $67k means this flops.
There are probably more electric golf carts than EV vehicles in my area.

Uhm, you make less power than a typical 200amp electrical service which would be 48kw.

So with an inverter and losses, you are producing what 12-13kw output to charge? Typical Tesla usable is about 75 kWh, would be about a 4 hr charge (with nothing else being used on your local grid)
Bigger packs like 90kWh would be about 7.5 hr, assuming you have good mid-day sun and getting the whole 14.4kw, which you don't get that for all of the sunlight hours. You didn't mention batteries, so assuming you don't have any, so yeah, i bet it struggles and can only charge really in the peak day time, so long as you got no clouds. lol

What in the world are you driving that is using $6,000 in gas a year.

National gas price atm is $3.09

Avg jeep gladiator might use about 710 gallons a year comes out to about 2200/year. I don't pay anything near that at $2.25, so I'm only about $1600/yr.

So what were you putting 2000 gallons of gas in that was costing you $6,000/yr?
Gas is still right at $4 here in CA and was averaging over $5 for awhile. We put about 20k miles per year on each jeep and they average 13mpg. That's 3000 gallons plus... and $12k. Where's the EV wrangler is my question.

I wish it was $4 here!

The Nissan leaf is as close as you'll find to a samurai in the EV world, and they don't sell all that well. The base model 2dr wrangler with a manual is as close as you'll find in the ICE world and they are literally the worst selling JLs. I mean you're here on the gladiator forum having clearly not bought what you say "most people" want? The average new car price is over $50k because most people in fact do want quite a bit of luxury and tech these days.

Uh, no, you are at about $5500 to mod willys. Seriously.

Ok man you're superior, if you want to think your 15mpg Mojave was the only option and it was just the smart thing, and there is no kid left in you, boy i bet you're fun at parties, ah, betting you don't do those either since that would be immature too.
Those bumpstops are air charged 😳 to 150psi . I like those though.

it's cheaper than a Rivian, and they seem to sell just fine.
But the Rivian is "new and hip", anything with a Jeep badge is not going to get the same audience.

Or it will get more because it's a jeep? The 4xe JLU has been the best selling wrangler since its debut and the average price was pushing $70k... but the anti EV crowd knows what "most people" want. I'm starting to believe you guys don't even know what most means.

Rivians are AWESOME. Amazing vehicles. I can't afford one but have driven. Absolutely unreal.

It's always possible t could get more, but it will still be different. The Recon isn't different enough looking to be the status symbol that Rivians are used for.

Yeah, im not sure i'd use those exact ones, but in the $400 range you could get some decent ones. They are very much worth it on the gladiator
