10th Anniversary Bumper

I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I have recently installed the 10th anniversary front bumper and I love it. Funny enough the hardest issue that I'm having with the bumper is whether or not to add the bar on top or leave it flat. Looking for opinions or people that have done one or the other. Advantages, disadvantages, etc. TIA.

I did as you did…
Then I bolted it down just to try…
And I never removed it…

If you plan a try-on, I would suggest to use a bit of rust-proofing oil just in case it’s going to be there forever!

How does this differ from the regular steel bumper?

Same bumper It's just that the wings are not attached.

I have the Hard Rock bumper, but still the same. I modified min a little... eliminated the crash-cans, added D-ring brackets, and gave it a textured paint.

They are a bit different than the JT/JL bumpers.

I put the bar on when I installed the winch. I assume it’s partly to protect the winch.

That's over $500 more than when ordering a JTR, $1511 versus $995, and over 2 grand retail. They really get us on these parts. No wonder many go for aftermarket.

Or order from the factory. Cargo management kit on a Bronco sport cost $100 from the factory, but over $1100 when you at the park together.

I put the bar on when I installed the winch. I assume it’s partly to protect the winch.

But, protect it from what? Most of the winch is hidden behind the bumper and the winch tray, from both the front and under... If something is going to attack the winch from above, it's taking your grill and radiator out, and more-so with the bar there.

The bars are mostly for adding lights.... not protection... There are a few good brackets to install lights on the bars.
