I’m not saying I should, but it seems like I could...

Similar to installing 12v in the bed, I’m wondering about drilling out the soft plastic bezel around the fog light and adding a 12 receptacle up front. If I did it (and I’m not saying I would), I’d route it through the aux panel so I could switch it on and off at will.

The only potential issues I see are it getting dirty or damaged. Trying to use it in such a state would be unsafe. Thus the aux panel wire-up. And to avoid anyone tampering with it.

As for benefit... I’ll admit there’s not much if I already have one in the bed. Just thinking it might be fun to do.

You have already made your own case against it being a good idea.

If you are in a "hell be damned" mode to do it anyways, I would say whatever you put up front needs to be a pretty heavy weather proof grade receptacle. Probably something marine grade.
