EDIT: I do not have the four switches and don't see a loose wire under the glove box anywhere.

Does anyone have a good circuit on the interior to get an always on 12V power source? I am trying to wire my Garmin Dash Mini 2 cam for parking mode. It needs a 12V power source that is on even when the ignition is off.

I know a bunch of companies make pigtails to tap into the various USB sources, but I think they are all off when the ignition is off, like this one:

I assume you are trying not to go through the firewall but honestly it’s probably best to just run the wire through the firewall to the battery.

Garmin makes nice dash cams. I have the 46W and it’s been a very nice unit. The parking cable is a nice addition.

Your stereo has an always hot wire to keep your memory settings. I found a fully interactive FSM for my 04LJ on line years ago. I wish I could find one for every vehicle.

I'm not sure how handy you are, but you can find a hot lead with a multimeter on the fuse block.

Once you find one use a scotch lock connector to tap into the load side of that circuit. (the side protected by the fuse).

I thought there was a simple kit available to make the 12v outlet hot all the time?
There are other posts about it out and about in the forums here.
I believe it's a sort of jumper for the fuse panel.

That one is just a power tap to the factory power port/ cigar lighter, not powered when vehicle is off. I bought one for my JT but still haven't installed it... :headbang: it's the same one for 04 TJ/LJ on power tap, I got it for my JT dash camera.
I've just got to re-route the dash camera wiring still. If you do run a power wire in at least you have a few bolts to use for grounding to.

The bundle of aux wires is taped up snug to the wiring harness horizontal to the front under the glove box. Mine was wrapped with shiny vinyl tapes that i had to cut. You will find a constant hot in it.

He said he doesn't have the factory AUX switches so he won't have those wires.
Those only exist if you get the AUX switches factory install. Dealer or owner install don't have those.

Yup, no auxiliary switches. So far, I have not found a hot 12v source in the cab that is not tied into the computer.

Not sure if this would work on the JT but on my 07 Charger you could move fuse #12 from hot when running to always ON just by moving the fuse to a different position.

That was years ago....... these are quite different.
If I am correct, the fuse for that 12v outlet is called "cigar lighter" and is fuse F52. Yellow, which would be 20 amp.
It's trapped in a specific spot, no place to move it except up and out completely. It's surrounded.
But as linked to elsewhere, there is a solution...... a jumper setup.

Your answer is in the link I posted earlier in this thread.
Yes, I was hoping to find a source free, not to make one for $25! But thanks! I might go that route.
