Hello, I need to tap a 12V power and illumination wire. It looks Like the thicker pink/yellow Stripe wire is the 12v power, and the thinner orange/brown stripe wire is for the illumination. I just want to make sure because somewhere else someone said the opposite? This is on 2021 Mojave

Thanks!

The Pink/Yellow wire is the +12v wire. Black is the ground. The Orange/brown or an orange/gray wire is the illumination wire.

You could also get this to prevent hacking the lighter wiring.

100% THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That's the route I went - and figured "I'll never use that tap" as I bought it only to make an extension for the 12v outlet. I actually used the tap for ignition/accessory power for my snow plow control.
So that harness solved two things.
I bought mine on Amazon in 2020 but see it's not available there currently.

I lengthened mine to move the 12v outlet.

I originally got that wiring tap for my Wrangler and ended up using it for my JT. No cutting of wires.

Back from the dead..I bought a used MTX575 and it came with a 12v power tap but fuse was cut out I think.. so the 2 red wires are 12v+ and need? to have a fuse connected to them and add a 12v+ out to the 575. The orange? with blue ? tracer is a negative.

Then tie to the +/- that came with the 575 and then the ring terminal to a good ground.

Any help would be appreciated.

l could forget the fuse just tie the 2 red wires together with a female spade connector and plug the + lead to the 575 into it. Safe off the harness ground and tie the ring ground to the dash aluminum frame. ???
