That sounds like a great plan, shouldn't have an issue doing that stretch in 3 days as long as you skip the Western loop in TN. I have heard most of that loop is pavement anyways. We averaged about 100 miles a day on our trip. Definitely do not want to go alone, as depending on the trail conditions and if you try any hard sections, it could get hairy. A guide is personal preference, but as long as you have the latest GPX file from the FB group, it is pretty straightforward to follow.Roger all that
Yes, I am excited to get back down there, but can't decide where to start. At the moment I am thinking of driving to Jellico, TN, then work my way north for 3 days. I think there is a guy with a company who takes folks on 2-4 day KAT tours. Thinking a big drive like that IS NOT a solo. Someone would find my bones a year or two later, while my relatives wonder, "Why doesn't he call?" 8-0
