Then, I decided to toss that idea and go without any mesh, old-school style.

I did have to snip the two tangs in the center of the grill to clear the Intercooler.

The clearances are tight but good enough

I could see that the fan cable was going to interfere with the air supply pipe from the air box, so I relocated it.

The air box was screwed into place, tucked in there very nicely!

I'll be using another rubber ply elbow to connect the supercharger to the air box.

I had to do a bit more clearencing on the fan shroud, but I got it to fit .

With that part of the modified installation approaching maturity, I took a break and changed the oil.

I used a new drain plug and placed two neodinym magnets on the pan near the drain.

If you think those magnets aren't strong, note that one magnet is holding up a wrench, pulling through the body of another wrench!!!!!!

It looks like I will be able to use the existing, larger air filter for this setup.

The ECM is due back from HP Tuners tomorrow, so I may hear the thing run. I still have to sort the PCV system, and that is predicated on my finishing the air intake piping. I will also have to install the new tune and add blower lube and the coolant, but I am certainly knocking on the door!

From one hot rodder to another, an Old trick for good seals on pressurized tubing is to use a cheap aerosol hairspray on the seats where the hose clamps go to prevent them from blowing apart.

Also use it to push tires back onto the rim.

Aqua net is what we use on the Cummins bellows. Was also used in potato guns back in the day. I loved how they smelled like French fries after firing a round.

Solid progress on the install. I thought the IC had “RIPP” painted across it. I seem to remember seeing it on some JK’s.
