2022 Texas trail diesel tow package

Hey gents

I recently ordered a 2022 tx trail diesel with tow package. From what I’ve read, the max tow is suppose to come with 4.10 gearing instead of the 3.73. On my window sticker, it shows tow package , and then all the features that line up with Max tow. Heavy duty 44 axles, trailer zoom, LSD etc. so does this have max tow, and if so, does it actually have the 4.10axle ratio and not the 3.73?

Diesel only comes with 3.73, and max tow is only available with the gas engine on sport trims. The diesel also automatically comes with the rear LSD if I’m not mistaken. With all that torque from the diesel, you’re alright with 3.73s, don’t worry.

no you do not have max tow, no diesel does. if you're worried about axles for non-towing reason, don't. With the great low end torque the diesel has you can run 40s on the 3.73 and not worry about it.

No worries, was just confused. I didn’t know that the diesel option only came with 3.73. This trim does come with the Dana 44 heavy axles (not sure if they all do? )

Good to know. I’m not worried, was just curious. I didnt know the diesel only came with 3.73, so was a bit confused. My model does come with the Dana 44 heavy axles(not sure if they all do?) so I’m not worried. They’re great axles from everything I’ve read.

They all do. The difference is the axle width with some trims. (and lockers with Rubicon, etc. that sort of thing)


For onlookers - tow package != max tow
Max tow isn't the axles, it isn't any one thing, and many trims and packages share some of the same features.

As others have stated, 3.73's on the diesel only. Trust me, there's plenty of torque! Traction control off and I can spin my 33" KO2's with zero problem away from a light just mashing it. With the stock HA 20" wheels and tires we were driving down to Knob Creek and was "ninja-ing" through traffic on I-65. Looked down and I was doing 103. She still had PLENTY of power. I slowed down......

You might not have the wide axle.

You should get the best cooling package and best alternator/battery.

How many miles until you noticed the leak? Was it covered under warranty ?

Around 1700 when I installed my lift. Yes, it’ll be covered.
