I have the same noise, but not as loud, from my freedom tops when there is a heavy side wind from the driver side. I’ve taken them off and inspected and cleaned everything, yet they still make the noise. Like I said, not as loud.

Vacuum leak around the power brake booster. You say it’s getting louder under load, driving into the wind, that would do it. Does the noise change if you work the brake pedal up and down? Whack off around 2 or 3 feet of an old garden hose and hold one end against your ear and use the other end to probe around and see if you can localize where the noise is coming from.

Another method to use for wind noise/whistle isolation is to cover all the gaps around the windshield and windshield frame with blue painters tape. If the noise goes away, then start removing sections of tape until the noise comes back.

I had a loud whistling noise in my 21 Mojave when it was new. It was a slightly different frequency than what you have, but it was very loud.

My noise was coming from the gap on the back side of the A-pillars (see pic below). I had to fill in this gap with automotive foam tape to fix my wind noise.

So I found a Tiktok with a Wrangler having the same noise under the exact same circumstances. Here was her diagnostic and the fix has resolved the issue. BUT I don’t have a boost 😩😩😩 What should I check? Any / all hoses for tightness?

My bad, that’s the first thing I would have thought if I hadn’t assumed it was a V6, not a turbo 4. Sounded like the Mack I drove in the 80’s that had the same thing happen on intercooler outlet

Starter fluid is an effective way of finding vacuum leaks, at least at idle with the hood open.

Check the space under the corner cowl where the window frame meets the body frame. There may be a gap there. I used duct foil tape to seal it, and no wind noise since. The tape will need to go under the rubber seal.

I did this to both sides yesterday and am still whistling this morning. I really appreciate the idea though! Thank you.
